I understand that some people voted for leopards because they believed they’d eat the faces of others. I don’t doubt they are surprised to feel their own face devoured. They wanted somebody to suffer. They’re somebody. They certainly appear to be a suffering. What now?

CBC calls a PC Majority with a million votes counted. #onpoli

Here comes the flood. #onpoli (7 ridings are delayed … gaps in the map are likely not errors…just delays.) newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/on...

The coverage isn’t quite as fun as other provinces. Usually in NS, PEI…the liquor is flowing, the accents are thicker, and people let it rip. Ontario is quite … restrained.

If you want to follow along #onpoli Results usually pour in. #SpaFy will be delayed tonight. www.youtube.com/live/lhha1xl...

If I had the crosstabs, I’d guess it’s a block of women 34-64 that shifted back to the LPC. Slight erosion among Ontario Suburban Men, quarter magnitude of the Suburban woman cleavage.

It’s this kind of day in #SpaFy — voting extremely light in the first hour. #ONpoli

He had a good run… a pandemic classic. RIP Leon. youtu.be/H6cakg3t0QY?...

Ontarians prefer divided government. If Doug wins tomorrow, Carney could win a month later. (Assuming Jagmeet follows through…) We like it when politicians suffer from talking to each other. Red on Blue ensures that.

Having a civil war in Canada just to transfer power would be extremely expensive (think of the gas cost!) so instead every citizen receives a coupon for a bullet. We mark down which side we’re on, count the bullets, and assume the side with the most bullets would have won. #onpoli #canpoli

I live North of the rail in #SpaFy — yet the voting centre is at the Enercare Centre in the far West corner of the district. When turnout is sub-40% again, we’ll all act surprised. Who could have seen this coming?

One third of Canadians have the opportunity to vote tomorrow. And yet…it seems as though this election is invisible? #onpoli

Worked a few events in #toronto tonight. Mostly just North of Bloor. Bloorrrrrrrrrrish. I would have loved to have had this size of a talent pool back in 2019, let me tell you. Lots of smart people. New grads that are out working the rooms are strong, a full SD better.

Households only consume if they want to. They aren’t obligated to over-consume. The MS lit on boycotting is focused and episodic. I’ve never seen broad-based, categoric, demand-destruction. I reckoned this would have shown up leisure aviation first. I wonder how they’re doing.

Fucking stupid given how mutually beneficial the system is. Idiotic from an information management perspective. Then even fucking dumber given the physical geography of our continental collective security.

Front page of every single UK newspaper today. Generative AI is theft.

It’s rrroll up to win so the country is essentially shut down.

And don’t forget the dividends!

High art from Mark here. I’m just barely able to make out the difference in decision tree bonsai between Freeland, Zelensky, and Pardo — on a good day. They’re just so GD great that there are subtleties that I’m sure that I can’t see.

I heard a specific tone in that exchange. Did you hear it? It’s very … candlepin. Eh? His reaction, rooted in fear, was a part of him knowing that tone. Hence the parhetic over-rotation. The only survivable response to that tone, ever, is to pause, listen, and ask a question if you’re confused.

That 84% is heartening. That’s basement granite. 11% (!) is just wild to me, but I get polling as a form of protest. I get that. I reckon if a few more questions were asked, it would be closer to 5%. 1:20 Trump absolutists makes sense right?

A few weeks ago I went to a see a good friend give a talk at an AI meetup on Bloor. Next door, the City of Toronto was hosting a waste management consultation. So of course I’m going to pop in and get in on that shit. He lives near The Beaches, one of the least dramatic areas of Toronto.

Oh, without exaggeration, it doesn’t merely last a generation. It’s Thelen deep. It’s multi-generational. There won’t be people born for another 60 years who won’t be affected when they enter the civil service 90 years from now. It’s beyond the undermat. The pop has penetrated the floor joyces.
