Leopards have always been among us. As have the weird, wonderful, sweaty, crafty, wise, kind, flamboyant, and industrious. Since the beginning. We have a set of pretty robust policies to handle leopards. We’ve done it before, even within recent memory. Let’s do that stuff again?

A few crosstabs. Not detailed enough to make out suburban Ontario vs Rural Ontario. 50+ women though. That education cleavage. That’s going to be a very tough dynamic to manage for whoever ultimately secures some power. Yikes. ekospolitics.com/wp-content/u...

Every single ballot is coated twice in blood. One coat in your own. The second coat from a poor teenager that died in some trench. This is the underlying story of a duty voter.

ElectionsOntario is doing its best with a brutally small budget.

Thanks to all who trust me enough with their stories. I have a lot of fun.

The unusual suspects are building and exporting. There’s new dynamic capability coming online. They just aren’t telling their stories. Which would be frustrating for Betakit but it’s rational for them. It’s smart.

I’m hearing notes that … there has been severe systems erosion at many Canadian firms. What used to be accomplishable in a few months is no longer possible. That’s in part a function of the macros. It signals severe supply destruction. Yikes.

In the before-times, many, not all, would be scooped up by the usual suspects. The outliers would end up sorting into the outlier pools. The outlier pools are still water. They don’t need to come out into the slush, so they aren’t coming out into the slush.

Hear me out: if he’s taking the day to go do Geraldo 2.0, then he isn’t messing anything else up for part of that day. If anything, maybe we need more stupid shit. Like Area 51? And then the Pyramids of Giza?

Chuckled too much at this. At both readings of the question. If he ever did ask that, he would have stood a chance at survival. It’s really the only play you have.

Oh, no expert on rare earths, but they’re capital intensive to extract and absolute poisonous to purify right? So before that kind of capital goes in, there’s gotta be security. Like multi-generational level kinds of security? Oil refinery levels of amortization?

If there’s a core takeaway from this slice of life of contemporary urban Canadian policy insomnia blueskying: I really hope they don’t put the trash incinerator anywhere in Toronto, and if so, not in my back yard.

I love Garbage Can models of Waste Management because it’s two levels of meta. And I love the … Jane Jacobsing faux consultation. It’s a checkbox. Yup, the landfill is filling up. We was told. And…lol…even the civic act feels as hollow as the solution space itself.

Literally the only thing positive I could do at that GD open house was to write “CIRCULAR ECONOMY” in block letters on a sticky and put it under “SOLUTIONS”. Because we’ve overshot. Toronto is overshoot. And I’m locked into it. I’m not aware of the magnitude of the overshoot or the lock-in.

So, I tell him before he talks that I specifically asked them to locate the eventual garbage burner in The Beaches. I didn’t really of course, they’ll put it in Scarborough probably. So I had my laugh. Haha. Toronto.
