The salt in that picture is desiccating my mouth just by looking at it online.

The flip side to Trump's military parades are federal officials with military gear brutalizing protestors.
The woman with the American flag chants "this is not the America we know" while chemical munitions are rained down upon her.

OK he’s likely talking about SSI here. It’s still gross, but it’s not the retirement social security. Politics still has some gravity.

NYPD did a pretty good* job squashing BLM protests with random acts of violence and imprisonment.

Many, many New Yorkers think Cuomo did well with Covid because of his calming “Daddy’s in charge” TV appearances. He seemed completely competent. The behind-the-scenes actual facts have not escaped containment and most people don’t know or understand them. It’s painful.

I’m in a semi-luxury business, and so far we haven’t seen changes. People who were laid off last fall, though, have not been able to find replacement work. I think “frozen” continues to describe where most businesses are.

WHAT THE HELL. Gobsmacked over here. Wowee. I guess it’s happy news for the dozens of Ramos-Cuomo crossover voters. 🤪

Royal gossip to distract from the ongoing looting of our treasury, the immiseration of hundreds of thousands, and the cruel rendition of increasing numbers of our neighbors.

“Making this even harder to parse is the fact that conflating Jews with Israel — and in turn with Israeli military and state policy — is a pastime of both unrepentant antisemites and the Israeli government and its defenders.” 💯

Not the point, but these DOGE kids all look so middle aged, in an unhealthy way.

Maybe this is dumb, but I would be more ready to put in a solar array if it came in fun colors.

Replacement rate is 2.1, and the average across the OECD is 1.5. So many are having more than 1, but few are having more than 2. I’m curious what those barriers are. (Some interesting data on oecd.org)

Are there any good surveys of people (or really just women) in OECD societies as to WHY they aren’t having more than two children? I got theories, but I’d rather have data.

My mother’s computer would stop working, and the tech would have to clean the tar off of the inside stuff so it would work again. About once a year.

NYC will always be a crime-ridden hellscape that needs saving by a tough man. No matter what the reality.

Things really went off the rails during the Q&A. The very first questioner asked him if he'd ever actually talked to people receiving public benefits, and the guy's answer was that, no, but Giuliani and Bloomberg had implemented benefits reforms as mayor, and they'd both been reelected...so.

AND LADDERS. Friend’s spouse was killed this way. When he hit the ground he shattered. Multiple broken bones, including skull and vertebrae. Quadriplegic but he never regained consciousness, dying of sepsis two weeks later. Effing nightmare.

I love Excel but also I’ve been really digging into wearing whatever the fuck I want, so not only do I recommend I am looking for enabling suggestions. I just ordered from Rujuta Sheth and looking for more like that.

There is a huge range to your question, but recently if I find a thing that works (for example, a boxy t-shirt that is the right shape for me from Z-Supply), I try to buy more of that thing and maybe some other related things direct from the manufacturer. For fun: Mata Traders & Rujuta Sheth.
