Brave seal! Eel looks like a Conger Eel. If it was healthy it may have put up a fight.

Every reserve they sell is a loss to wildlife. It's literally losing ground to development. Why don't they see this? I get the closure of visitor centres (insurance, staffing running costs etc), which while they lose their education value, they can be mothballed, and opened for the occasional event.

If you live near the North or South Poles and want to lose weight, move to the equator. Both the centrifugal force counteracts the mass (so the planet's rotation does have a small effect on weight. Also on the equator you are further away from the middle of the earth where the greatest mass is.

They make their way out of the nest to develop into adults. They are also fast, which also helps them escape from the ant nest.
This species is parthenogenic, so reproduce easily.

I have Giant Prickly Stick Insects and the eggs have this. The ants, attracted by the sweet nub on the egg carry them back to the nest where conditions are ideal for the eggs to hatch. The young do resemble ants.
