It really is incredible how important those developmental years are as far as setting us up for lifelong skills. My trauma still chases me at 53. Self-awareness can only do so much - some of my auto-reactions were developed to survive and my lizard brain doesn’t realize they are no longer needed.

I wanted to leave the big city and return to a rural life on the coast. I thought I was too trapped in the corporate rat race to ever do it. Due to depression during lockdown, I no longer cared about anything so I went ahead and made the move. No regrets
