No, I'm not. Honestly, you just come across as a killjoy looking for something to vent your anger on.

Last time I checked, Blue Origin isn't owned by one of the oil companies.

Spoiler alert: most of the people won't pay attention and those that do often wildly misinterpret what they're seeing. That's how we got Trump in the first place.

Does anyone care what Taibbi thinks anymore?

In other words, you want performative resistance.

What is he supposed to do with a Republican Congress? At best, he could try to game the rules like Mitch McConnell, but that only works if your opponent is following the rules.

Frankly, it's just people venting their anger on any convenient target.

I highly doubt the carbon emissions amount to much in the scheme of things.

Time for the EU and other powers to sanction El Salvador.

Our culture needs more culture, period.

I'd rather them than someone like you who seems to be opposed to NPR's actual mission.
BTW, NPR still has plenty of fans, to the point that it's often in the top five at rush hour in big cities.
comment in response to

Frankly, our culture needs more of that.
If you don't like NPR, don't listen to it. But don't gripe and say it should be something other than what actual NPR fans want.
comment in response to

I have a feeling actual NPR listeners see it differently. 😅

If he'd targeted a Republican governor, he'd be there regardless of race. Politics is the issue here.

NPR is supposed to be an intelligent alternative to the slop most other radio stations offer. Also, dismissing music just because it's old is reverse snobbery.
comment in response to
post
There are plenty of college radio stations playing that. Honestly, it just sounds like NPR isn't for you.
comment in response to
post
It's almost like NPR is trying to be high-brow and play stuff you won't find on every other commercial station. 🤔
Seriously, do we really need yet another rock or hip-hop station?

If you don't like jazz or classical music, you're free to listen to something else. Other people do like it.

Speak for yourself.

Meh. Frankly, I see no problem with people who can afford it paying to go into space. Not everything has to "advance" progress.

We'll be lucky if we can resolve the issues mentioned in the meme.

You can't force people to take manufacturing jobs, especially if they have no experience in manufacturing.

My mother is an older boomer. She has vivid memories of thinking she was going to die during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Why would it have anything to do with that? Are you suggesting her family or someone connected with them attacked his residence?

I believe the Trump administration is not sui generis, but rather an outgrowth of decades-long, if not centuries-long, trends in the US.

Was this solely an issue under Republican administrations, or is this a longer-term issue that has just gotten worse under Trump?

None that overrides your responsibility to your children.

That's interesting. Being lumped in with a bunch of other students just left me with a social phobia from them constantly bullying and making fun of me. Maybe your ideological commitment to public schools is preventing from recognizing that not everyone benefits from being in groups.

Your primary responsibility is to your own children.

I loved it when I first saw it. However, I saw The Prestige a few months later, which blew The Illusionist out of the water.

THIS. People pretend this all started with Trump. It started much further back, and many Democrats were complicit.
comment in response to

Frankly, I'd prefer someone more progressive.

And so long as the education is provided - which the testing described would check - it's not up to the state whether it's at home or at a public school

Or maybe ditch the attitude and ask WHY people want to homeschool. Yeah, a good number of them are religious fanatics, but others genuinely have reasons why they aren't sending their kids to schools.

LOL, I wish I had been homeschooled. Years of constant ostracism and bullying at school made me LESS eager to interact with people.
comment in response to

OTOH, that's a self-selected group of people who are dissatisfied with their experiences. I had a friend who did well-enough with home-schooling that he earned a full college scholarship. Interestingly, he was and is a far more social person than me.

Anyone who isn't skeptical about everything RFK Jr. says is a fool. His out-to-lunch beliefs have been well-documented.

Frankly, you sound like you just want liberal Fox News. While I have no problem reading opinion pieces, when I'm reading straight news, I don't want opinionated headlines.
comment in response to

Yes, as I said, cranks and idiots.
comment in response to

I don't see the problem with the headline. That was RFK Jr.'s announcement. RFK Jr. is a known crank. The only people who will take his word are other cranks and idiots.

I don't cruise at all. I don't like crowds or being around people who are drinking.

Most people with working brains don't want to go on cruises. They're overcrowded and more often than not packed with drunks.
