#CripTheVote we know anyone who might be able to help with this? Most US wheelchairs have steel (China) aluminum (Canada and China) and rubber (Southeast Asia)

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

We've got Bill Kristol saying abolish ICE and standing up for trans people, David Brooks quoting the communist manifesto, and Sen. Van Hollen forcing a dictator to give proof of life of a hostage in a death camp. Meanwhile, Dems like Newsom are doing podcasts with fascists. Make it make sense.

LA! Let’s express how furious we are about Kilmar in the Gulag & the others disappeared. Tomorrow Wed 4/16 11:30am-1:30pm Outside Consulate General of El Salvador 3250 Wilshire Blvd LA 90010 In collaboration w/ @samo-indivisible.bsky.social; @indivisiblewestsidela.com; 50501-socal.bsky.social

It’s a month since the administration detained and disappeared a green card holder, a lawful permanent resident. We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

At least 75% of the men Trump illegally deported to El Salvador have no criminal records. These men have been abducted and sent to a hell-hole Salvadoran “prison” that is the the equivalent of a torture-laden concentration camp. DEMAND freedom and justice for these men.

🚨UPDATE: Rümeysa Öztürk has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in DHS custody. She has not received her required asthma medications—a violation of her fundamental right to medical care. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.

Giving props to @dredf.bsky.social Watch Change not Charity: the Americans With Disabilities Act on PBS tonight. Part of the American experience series. DREDF play a huge role in getting the. #ADA passed. Learn about many of the people behind this life changing piece of legislation.

On #TransDayOfVisibility, as disability rights and justice advocates and organizations, we urge policymakers at all levels to reject anti-trans policies and rhetoric and, instead, enact comprehensive measures that ban discrimination and promote equality, nondiscrimination, and accessibility for all.

Today @dredf.bsky.social joined @civilrightsorg.bsky.social and 132 other civil rights organizations representing millions of people to release an open letter entitled “Our Rights Are at Stake. We Will Not Be Silenced.” Read the letter ⬇️ civilrights.org/wp-content/u...

“I can’t even imagine that we might have to go back to a world like that.” Today, the #TexasVBecerra lawsuit and the fight to #Protect504 is featured in the @washingtonpost.com:

How to "help orgs, community members, and policymakers work together to advance disability justice. With the increasing dangers facing the disability community across the U.S., it is more important than ever for communities to collaborate to fight back." www.americanprogress.org/article/how-...

You know, that @mjschlanger.bsky.social , who's quoted in this piece, is really smart. "Incredible overreach" indeed. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/10/o...

We need a DAILY press conference with the Dems best messengers (AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Pete Buttigieg, Jamie Raskin, etc) breaking down exactly how Trump and Musk are destroying our country and debunking their bullshit. Stream it on every single platform. Every single day. For as long at it takes.

We've confirmed the US Bureau of Prisons has transferred trans women to men's prisons despite three court rulings blocking Trump's executive order “I’m continuing to be punished for existing. I'm a pawn in others' political games" -Whitney, 31-year-old woman taken to men's prison this week, told us

"The entire federal workforce is facing unprecedented fear and uncertainty, but disabled workers face additional struggles as executive orders and damaging rhetoric question their right to receive needed accommodations." www.aclu.org/news/disabil...

Gavin Newsom can go insert himself inside himself. Whether he actually believes this crap or is just a craven coward, there's no excuse for this. Support trans athletes or get fucked. That's just me. www.politico.com/news/2025/03...

I want to hear from people about tariffs impact people's ability to get their meds + medical devices for @motherjones.com. My signal is @juliametraux.49 and my email is [email protected]. I am Mother Jones' disability reporter.

O’Malley, the former commissioner of the Social Security Admin (SSA), said Monday the recent cuts made by Elon Musk’s Dept of Govt Efficiency (DOGE) could result in the “collapse” of the Social Security system “within the next 30 to 90 days.” Save up, & get loud. 1/2 thehill.com/homenews/adm...

Today is Disabled Day of Mourning, to honor disabled people killed by caregivers. Fellow journalists, when we write about these situations, we need to clearly call it murder, and not through a"poor caregiver" lens.

It’s true—“If cuts of this magnitude are allowed to become law, it is not hyperbole to say that the results would be catastrophic for people with disabilities, family caregivers, direct support professionals…1/2

The federal government pays around 2/3 of a states' Medicaid budget every year. States picking up more of that cost will not end well, and this will likely lead to more dead people.

If your representative is dodging in-person town halls, call them out! Tag them and demand they face their constituents.

#TexasVBecerra Case Update: No state Attorney General has withdrawn from the lawsuit at this time. We urge advocates in the 17 states to continue to contact their AG to ask them to drop the case to continue the campaign to #Protect504 More info: dredf.org/wp-content/u...

Medicaid work requirements could strip healthcare from low-income women, who already shoulder a disproportionate amount of family caregiving responsibilities, often while managing their own chronic health conditions.

If you're in leadership and throw your hands up and say you have no power, step down and let others step up.

Work requirements are meant as cuts to Medicaid. They make it harder for disabled people to get the services we need to survive. We can stop this - meet with your elected officials and tell them #HandsOff Medicaid! We can show you how:

This was my brother who had DS & Alzheimers. Music brought him so much joy throughout life, but it really helped keep him happy during Alzheimers. He benefitted from DEI & an education-he worked in a salon, washing towels, making coffee & sweeping hair & the customers loved him. Best person I knew!
