Finally able to catch my breath and start sharing some pics of a galactic time at @ranchoobiwan.bsky.social for the Summer Social FUNdraiser! 😍 #RanchoObiWan @claytonsandell.com @hollyfrey.bsky.social

Happy 44th birthday to ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’. Want to celebrate with a clip of Indiana Jones beating the crap out of some Nazis?

Today is already looking up.

Mon Mothma's Wedding Death-Dance is The Song of Summer. How "Niamos! (Chandrilian Club Mix)"🎶 from #Andor went from a moment of bleak catharsis to a social media phenomenon. It's now growing far beyond the #StarWars fandom.

The answer is ‘Severance’! 3,500 VFX shots vs. 3,200 on ‘Skeleton Crew’. (But with a lower average, because ‘Severance’ has two more episodes.) Today for ILM, I chat with production visual effects supervisor Eric Leven on his five favorite VFX sequences. Read here: www.ilm.com/severance-er...

Question: Which show do you think has the highest total number of visual effects shots? Answer in the comments!

Please send this to your influencer friend who does TikToks about moviemaking but doesn't really know how movies are made. (And watch Jonas Ussing's other "No CGI" videos too. They're brilliant.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=hniW...

Taungsdays, amirite?

Sundance and Colorado officials say red state/blue state politics played no role in choosing Boulder as its new home. But as finalists Ohio and Utah were busy banning protections for LGBTQ people, Boulder was taking Sundance visitors to Chautauqua for "forest bathing." For @denverpost.com

The great Tom Hiddleston with the great Anthony Breznican! @brezwrites.bsky.social @vanityfair.com

Some ILM-ers I know cringe when people describe them as “wizards”. But today, as Industrial Light & Magic celebrates an epic first 50 years, there’s no other word for the people who changed visual effects and cinema forever, and continue leading the way: WIZARDS. youtu.be/649PF2aV_zM?...

Happy 48th release date birthday, Star Wars. (And Jedi. And Solo.) 😀

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is 20! Here’s a clip from a special Dolby Atmos screening with Skywalker Sound legends and Episode III supervising sound editors @matthewood.bsky.social and Ben Burtt. Hosted by the Motion Picture Sound Editors on 05/04/25 on the Fox Studio Lot in LA.

Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Alien, Superman, The Abyss, and so much more. Les Dilley’s contributions to cinema are legion. Rest in peace.

Happy 45th birthday to the greatest Star Wars film ever. For the Empire Strikes Back 40th in 2020, I got to share some rare behind-the-scenes footage. It’s so fun to watch. You can find it here: abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/...

An absolute treasure trove from my all-time favorite Internet Content Developer.

Shots fired.

ICYMI: There’s a fun behind-the-scenes story here that explains how legendary ILM modelmaker Bill George came to have a modelmaking credit on ‘Skeleton Crew’…

Doing a lot of writing lately about Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra… for… reasons… and if Lucasfilm is looking for its next live action Star Wars character…she’d be ace.

**ANDOR SPOILERS** That final Andor shot hit me like a ton of banthas. It’s perfect storytelling and got me thinking about Tony Soprano. No, really. Here’s the take I’ve been pushing in group texts with Star Wars friends for the last 12 hours. Thoughts? Read here: open.substack.com/pub/claytons...

Happy birthday GWL! And thanks, as always.

Anybody else getting Sopranos finale vibes after that incredible Andor ending?

Do yourself a favor and make sure to watch all of the Andor episode 12 credits, with the sound way up. What a beautiful touch. Also, thanks for the recommendation, Disney+! ⬇️

10/10. No notes. So much to process. We’re going to be talking about this piece of Star Wars storytelling perfection for a very, very long time.

Good morning American friends. I'm raising funds for a last-minute chance to get to Martha’s Vineyard and film at the Jaws 50th anniversary. The footage will be a key part of our documentary, about production designer Joe Alves. A donation or a share — would mean a great deal. gofund.me/13795716

What a pleasure to put this Mon Mothma piece together for Star Wars dot com. I can't get over how perfect Genevieve O’Reilly was for this role - I love everything she shared about the character and her performance. www.starwars.com/news/andor-s...

I might start a Star Wars podcast JUST to talk about this third arc of Andor…

This man’s smile says it all. Come with us as visual effects legend Dennis Muren tours the original home of ILM for the first time in five decades. Read here: www.ilm.com/dennis-muren...

Excellent mail call from @ranchoobiwan.bsky.social today. I am digging the Steve Sansweet patch, created in honor of his 80th birthday this year! #starwars

Here’s my Met gala.

Had to pay a visit to Avenue E and Seventh Street on the Fox studio lot. Building 222 is where Maestro John Williams composed the scores to ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Jaws’, among others. It’s dedicated to composer Lionel Newman. Williams has a building too, but across town on the Sony lot. Thank you, JW!
