What has this got to do with this thread?

I don’t think it’s an either or situation. I’m dead against financial cuts to the poor and elderly, but at the same time we need to accept we have a new reality and we need to be ready. Being ready is the best deterrent to any would be aggressor.

And where do you think the money comes from to buy a second home? Most of the time it is working people who are trying to make better lives for their families. They have to take on the risk of a second mortgage and rent that property out which brings more risk. There are huge costs involved.

A step in the right direction though.

That’s a pretty misguided understanding of it. Can you explain how people receive profit for sitting on their arse?

Paying Capital gains tax does not mean you are wealthy.

Was it not Sunak who ditched this?

I’ve never really thought that running that far could be anything but bad for the body. We never evolved to endure that much exercise in one sitting.

My thoughts exactly. Tank the markets by announcing tarrifs, wait for a decent drop and buy back in when the bond market starts melting down. It’s stinks.

When are we going to see the light and nationalise essential services? It’s cheaper and the motive is not profit but value and accountability. More money for the people that need it.

Absolutely he’s done the right thing, it had to be called out. Musk is a danger to us all and unchallenged will just become more dangerous. He needed to be slapped down, what he’s doing is totally unacceptable. Starmers response was near perfect.

One of the best TV offerings in years, it is excellent.

Lots of people suggesting the govt leave Twitter. Does anybody seriously think that will discourage him?

Hi Sarah, He’s a danger to UK Democracy and should be banned from donating money to any party, esp. if that means a rule change re: funding. I don’t think it would be a bad move to use the threat of banning Twitter in the uk and carrying it out if needed. Ignoring him will only encourage..

She should never have walked for that.

I take my hat off to him. Someone had to tell him what people were thinking. How inappropriate, swanning around exchanging pleasantries as if nothing had happened. Pure arrogance.
