Just wanna point out that LibDem/Green Oxfordshire was the absolute centre of the 15 min city conspiracy and today the LDs have added 15 seats and the Greens have more than doubled so it’s hardly electoral suicide. People like safe streets! @carlosmorenofr.bsky.social @filipwatteeuw.bsky.social

Congrats to my transport geek Green sister @emilykerr36.bsky.social πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š absolutely smashed it!

Good luck to all Greenies standing in local elections today! Looking forward to hearing of much success tomorrow, and especially good luck to @mayorslayer.bsky.social πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

Solid advice if you live in #Oxford. Definitely vote for @emilykerr36.bsky.social.

Bristol Green Party stands by all those impacted by the EHRC guidance. Said guidance has not considered trans people needs. The trans community deserves access to facilities appropriate to their identity.

finally a politician i can get behind

"The issues we need to tackle stem from the broken system of austerity, not from trans rights – which do not exist as a zero-sum game." Our Co-Chairs @mattrogan.bsky.social and @kathrynbristow.uk for @yorkshirebylines.co.uk yorkshirebylines.co.uk/society/tran...

All of us, whether we’re trans or not, deserve dignity and respect, and the freedom to go about our daily lives without fear of abuse or harassment. Govt has urgent Qs to answer about how it will ensure those rights for trans people - sadly I didn't get those answers yesterday.

Labour ministers are apparently ruling out scrapping the two-child benefit cap - in other words, choosing to keep 600,000 children in poverty. Meanwhile govt refuses to consider a wealth tax which could Β£24bn. Hard to find the words for this level of unnecessary cruelty.

I wrote this essay four years ago. Sadly, still relevant as the fight for trans people to live in peace and safety with respect goes on and on. Feminism has to be intersectional or it just doesn’t work. medium.com/@bristolemma...

Me and my green Party colleagues have been dismayed at the Supreme Court ruling this week. It was heartening however, to see how many people turned up to protest on College Green today. We also got a bonus @zoegarbett.bsky.social πŸ’š πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈβœŠ. We will continue to fight for the rights of trans people πŸ’šπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈβœŠ

Also, how satisfying is the pre-timed Max?! getting a green man within a few seconds in order to cross busy Ashley Down Road!

Enjoyed meeting with our local police this morning on Ashley Down Road and Ralph Road, with the speed monitor. Both these roads have terrible issues with speeding. Letters will be sent to all those who were speeding. We’re also going to set up a community speed watch team with residents. #20isPlenty

If Trump was a British prime minister, we’d be getting the iceberg lettuce out about now.

I think I have the flu. Which for somebody who is vaccinated up to the hilt, and during the first week of blissful sunny spring weather; feels like a really bad April fools joke ☹️

Do people realise that 75,000 children are killed on the roads *every year* whilst outside walking, cycling, playing? I have to admit, I didn’t. How can we tolerate this? @unicef.org www.unicef.org/media/167696...

My quote; "There's been lots of literature that shows if you restrict through-traffic, then traffic just evaporates." Here's the seminal study to read -> cat.org.uk/external-res... And here's the full local story www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Aaron Banks!?!?!

Some families have said the East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood have made the roads safer. Many have also written to the authority, with 39 statements out of 62 supporting the scheme compared to 10 opposing it. This was very heartening to read at transport committee. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Thanks to Great Western Hearts ambulance for our training in CPR and defib use today. Having Defibrillators available in our communities and people trained in using them is a life-saving measure and I urge all Councillor to do this vital training.

I’ve seen some paternalistic nonsense in my time but this might take the biscuit.

A friendly information point from your local councillor: today is a light jacket day. Do not make a coat error like I did.
