Yeah, but coming from Baltimore you can do "baby let's go into DC tonight." You just leave your car at Greenbelt and take the train into town.

Nobody's seen the video of the skater kid taunting the ICE thugs as he gets pelted with CS and pepper balls?

All these people with the "here's how to survive the CS attack" stuff is ridiculous. Jaysus, just walk up wind an wave your arms around a bit. Put your close in a trash bag and take a cold shower when you get home. I'm pretty sure none of these people have ever been pepper sprayed i their life.

They're usually mostly a threat to themselves. The only thing American left-wing terrorist groups have ever accomplished is killing themselves.

The internet is not war, I thought we already covered this. Anyway, that's enough for today.

DARPA is a research lab, nothing more.

War is, always has been, and always will be, men and women with guns, tanks, warplanes, and artillery killing people. Drones and cyber warfare are useful only insofar as they enable armies to do that more efficiently. You should put that into your strategic foresight and risk management.

That's also not what I asked. I think pretty much anybody who has seen war thinks it's bad and should generally be avoided. I'm just trying to figure out why you think you're qualified to be be a military strategist.
comment in response to

That ain't what I asked. You sound like somebody who thinks what you've seen on the Twitters is how wars are fought. And since you asked, I've seen a few wars first hand. You?

Timmy, how many wars have you fought?

Well, JD is also motivated primarily by spite and hatred as well. He's just dumber than Miller.

It really has nothing to do with their opinion of the current administration or any other.

If they send the military out to kill civilians the citizenry ain't going to be civil

Well the retribution didn't last long and the hand wringing about Christmas day is still going on. There's nobody that's not capable of doing the same thing

The Romanians thought they were better than that too. But anyway, Trump will turn tail and run at the first sign of trouble. He's as fundamentally detached from reality as Ceausescu but he's also fundamentally a coward.
comment in response to

A more fundamental question though, is why so many are willing to kill each other over minor heresies. That's got nothing to do with the nature of God though. It's purely the nature of man.

For the religionist yes.

They have to reconcile an avowed monotheism with a divine Jesus. In order to do that you need a lot of hand-waving and theological splitting of hairs on what the meaning of is is.
Yes for them is all very important. For everyone everyone else it's minutia.

Christians have been stabbing each other over the minutia of theological doctrine for as long as Christians have existed.

For indeed, who would set his wit to so foolish a bird?
Who would give a bird the lie, though he cry "cuckoo"
never so?

The finch, the sparrow, and the lark,
The plainsong cuckoo grey,
Whose note full many a man doth mark,
And dares not answer "Nay"

I have a Canon R6 and a DJI Air3. I haven't been doing photography long, still trying to figure out what makes a picture good. Some days I get good light and interesting things other days not so much. Someday maybe I'll be able to get good pictures in bad light and boring places. :)

Thank you. I appreciate it. Although I actually have no idea what I'm doing yet, I occasionally get lucky and get a decent picture. 😀

No one has set foot on the Moon in half a century. Not because it is too hard, but because there is no good reason to do it. We can explore Mars, we've been doing it for decades, even though it's hard. We landed a spaceship on a fickin comet. But we have better things to do than tourist trips.

Pretty bog-standard GOP belligerence. Basic human decency certainly isn't going to get her anywhere in today's Republican Party.

None of them have ever said, "I was wrong, I made a made a mistake" because they didn't. Their values and actions are not misaligned no matter how much you want to believe it. They voted for him because he told them he would punish the people they hate, that's it. And they'll do it again.

The military has a lot of substance abuse problems. That might not be surprising given the nature of the job, but they have programs, and if you self refer, there are absolutely zero professional consequences. It's not considered a moral failing at all.

He was always a little weird but SV cooked his brain. Several years ago the alt-right thing was new he was asking if there were any books or articles explaining their philosophy. I told him no, not really but there's this guy named Curtis Yarvin, real nut-job but he's pretty popular with that crowd.

Thirty seconds on google will tell everything you need to know about anyone of note. If you are unwilling or unable to do that simple thing you should probably be under the supervision of a responsible adult while on the internet.

So they're not looking for a job. They want admission to the elite. Sure, everyone should be granted admission to the elite but then it's not the elite anymore. It's just a job.

It's weak and feckless. And by that I mean it's weak and feckless for journalists to allow elected officials to make anonymous statements about the disappearing of US persons.

Because at the end of the day Appalachian communists see liberalism as the enemy, not Trumpism. Always have and always will. They're not going to change their stripes. Spite is what keeps them warm at night.
