Wait, what, servers down for maintenance? Oh well, I'll return to Oblivion then.

I wonder if that size 8 FSD will become available soon.

Dr. Spoilsport Killjoy here - don't forget that all ships in ED looks huge. Even the small ones.

OK, might take a while longer before I set out on that long expedition I planned... although this is technically a replay, so I might be done with it before start of next week.

Engineering (mostly) done, and I've been out on a shakedown cruise of sorts. It's actually quite a nice ship. A bit sluggish, and a jack of all trades and master of none. I think it will be a good medium sized mission runner. Feels almost indestructible with the engineered bi-weaves. #EliteDangerous

After sleeping away a couple of weeks orbiting a gas giant in the middle of nowhere, it was time to return to my carrier near Colonia. A straight and uneventful journey, but I did find an ELW. Time to get some rest before I resume tinkering on that beaked thing down in the hangar. #EliteDangerous

I increased the speed 16x to make it small/short enough to post here. I was about to edit out the sound, but decided against it since I felt it added some very "alien" qualities to the video. In short: this is a gas giant many times the size of Earth, passing very close to its star. #EliteDangerous

Did I ever tell you that I think @drkayross.bsky.social and the rest of the team did an outstanding job with the astrophysics/-dynamics part of ED? But even with the whole galaxy open to us, seeing an occlusion like this is very rare. The planet almost touches the star when it passes.

I just noticed this small detail about the headlights on the Mandy. Well, it is a Zorgon-P ship after all, right? #EliteDangerous

I'm in position for the view of a gas giant doing a slingshot around a star. It has cloed in with around 20 ls over the night, and if my guesstimate is correct there should be an occlusion later today. The orbital period is 27.5 days. #EliteDangerous

it was just a matter of time, with jump times getting longer and longer. Well, I'm almost there at least, and will try to make the last few jumps.
