A wonderful idea on the surface. But given that Canadians will be looking for alternative destinations to the U.S., add in the attractiveness of 'free', will our parks have the infrastructiure and personnel to handle the influx of people, and still remain wonderful and natural experiences?

It's reverse-reverse psychology. Trump's plan is actually to goad Canadians into voting Liberal, which will case a unity crisis out west. I expect this was exactly what Danielle Smith and Kevin O'Leary were discussing with Trump in Mar-a-Lago. Her outrageous 'demands' confirm this.

To be fair, I don't think any of them are going as far as is needed. They still seem to think some kind of appeasement deal is possible and desirable. It's not. Look at the outright extortion Trump is perpetrating with Ukraine. We need deep domestic defence production. Even if only as a deterrent.

How would you prepare Canada when it is clear that the United States stands against Ukraine, and is in the process of pivoting to align with Russia? Within days they will end sanctions to re-enable the Russian war chest. Who is standing with us?
