Morgan had many books in storage at the Lenox Library as construction proceeded on his new library. Greene was engaged to help get them ready to be moved. (Letter first cited by Daria Rose Foner and Colin B. Bailey in our 2023 book "J. Pierpont Morgan's Library: Building the Bookman's Paradise.")
