SCOOP: Now that Linda McMahon is confirmed/sworn in as secretary, Trump will be imminently issuing an executive order eliminating the Department of Education. I’ve obtained a draft of an email that McMahon will be sending to staff re: the EO and the department’s “final mission”. Here is a portion:

If you're part of a group organizing to any capacity in defense of the working class in Central Illinois, we want to hear from you! Email [email protected] or message CICC.86 on signal to learn more (including how you can vet the operation).

Your starvation is a game to them. It's not rain running down your necks.

1. Reports this week revealed that DHS has rescinded guidance banning surveillance based on someone's gender identity or sexual orientation. We have confirmed those reports. The latest from S. Baum, who goes over steps you can take to protect yourself. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Abandoning folks by admitting your own moral failings. Politicians and pundits do not mean to save any of us. We're all we have, but that can be more than enough.

If you're organizing in Central Illinois, we want to meet you. We want to put oppositional groups in touch so we can build an effective coalition across the state. We'll be happy to let you vet us before we meet. Please send a DM/use the Signal handle CICC.86 to reach out.

These community members are casualties. Class war rages.

“The trouble with the biodiesel solution is that no one would want to live in a city whose public transportation was fueled, even just partly, by the distilled remains of its late underclass. ... Our goal, in short, is a humane alternative to genocide.”

Congress is debating a bill that will lead to weaponized takedown requests of lawful speech with no real safeguards. Tell Congress to vote No on TAKE IT DOWN.

Historically, when engaging rural white folks regarding their class allegiance, invoking Carlin has proven to be a great strategy. And, a lot of the time, there is something from decades ago that is more relevant today than when he said it. youtu.be/sJeFrqBJF6E

Yeah, sounds about right.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

Geography is a piss poor metric for identifying your allies in this struggle. The territorial vengeance fetish speaks to an unrealistic, immature simplification of our reality.

"[Ryan] Walters sent the video, in which he announces a new department of religious freedom and patriotism, to all public school superintendents in the state and told them to play the prayer for their students and send it to parents. 1/2 www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

Central Illinois' own Richard Gilman-Opalsky.

The neat thing about this is that a swathe of his supporters would never hold one after he's done with this place.

A chunk of the people I grew up with pretend they are "yeehaw, fuck the law," but a chunk of them will absolutely be salivating at this bacon-wrapped nonstarter.

Every single member of our extended community, regardless of their immutable characteristics, have more in common with one another than they will ever have with Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Silicon Valley, or Wall St. The Billionaire class is waging a bloody class war, and we are ALL seen as parasites.

The smallest of personal efforts can show overwhelming solidarity.

"It is no exaggeration to say this will kill people—mainly people who are elderly, disabled and/or poor. Society’s most vulnerable sit in the crosshairs of our nation’s wealthiest people who have absolutely everything, but somehow always want more."

"This doorway to power, open to hundreds of us to move through at the same time, is one reason of the many as to why we should join up with community spaces, collectives, unions, and organizing groups if we can find them. But what if we’re short on spaces like these?"

Five alarm fire. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

Indiana is trying to adopt some of us because the downstate counties actually believe Chicago is taking something from them instead of, you know, making sure we can afford anything at all.

White nationalist Lana Lokteff says we have to "repeal the Civil Rights Act" to stop black people from invading "all our white spaces": "All of this because they couldn't drink [from] the same water fountain or use the same toilet. Was it really that big of a deal?"

SSA employee to me re: 50% staff reduction: "Can say unequivocally that such deep cuts to SSA, which is already at historically low staffing, will cause significant to extreme degradation of services, very likely including checks missed and individuals dying before their claims can be processed."

In light of this news — here's the endgame of dissecting trans women's bodies in sports. It's dissecting all women's bodies, especially Black women and other women of color, and sparking mass harassment campaigns against them

This sounds better in the original German: Reichsvereinigung der Einwanderer in Amerika

This is how i responded to @bsky.app:

We want to securely and safely build networks for the purpose of mutual aid and defensive strategies/education. This includes offering safe places for marginalized communities to learn or coordinate, as well as engaging the fascist ideologies within our communities in creative and effective ways.

"our society doesn't let five-year-olds vote," "a woman is like a child," "God has appointed men to protect them," "support a 'household vote' system in which men vote on behalf of their families." Hegseth's former sister-in-law reports she heard him echo similar sentiments.

Several members of our rural communities would be devastated by this. At the heart of the conversation, we should center the brazen callousness of billionaires that have duped our neighbors into believing they actually care if we live or die.

There is no doubt that they are outnumbered. Our communities need to remain strong and resolute. While some of our neighbors are unarguably lost to their hatred for "others," several are just too afraid to speak up. Solidarity is empowerment. Reach out to your loved ones and speak plainly.
