Anyone who believes what elmo did was not a Nazi Salute should post a video of themselves making the same arm gesture. Go ahead, y'all, let's see it.

They won't even show up for press briefings, so I guess they don't have to worry about any ouchies.

Just saw this which would absolutely blow up the House. Couldn’t get a single thing done. I don’t even really want to start thinking about Elmo having access to daily intelligence reports. I hate this timeline.

It’s a great thread. I had to take a break and have yet to get back to it. It’s sitting waiting for me.

My view of Originalism is that the Constitution is Intended to be Originally a living breathing document and we shouldn’t confine ourselves to 18th Century set in stone language, and instead modify the Intent of the document as society evolves.

Interesting. However, this gives me pause: >Firstly and perhaps most importantly, selection bias is possible because individuals who are at higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease may be less likely to enter or remain in memory intensive driving occupations such as taxi and ambulance driving.

Now, I'm obliged to tell you my one Canadian joke: How do Canadians spell Canada? . . . . . . . . . . . . C-A-N-A-D, eh

Yup. Rolled oats, handful of raisins, dash of salt. Bring to a simmer and then on the back burner for ten minutes, stirring at 5. A little butter and honey for toppings.

The greens make plenty of room for cognitive dissonance. I was green for a while here in SF just to have something different than D on my ballot. Years ago when Dr Stein (MD) caved and became an antivaxer to retain the party top slot, I was through.

I make a bunch of raisin oatmeal for a few mornings to be reheated in the microwave. Sometimes I’ll have it at night with a little butter and honey. So good.

Eventually, they went on to helping others escape the Scientology cult and adopted the name Anonymous to protect those folks. Yup, the very same Anonymous we know today. I wish I’d saved the article. Couldn’t have known at the time. I can still picture the newspaper & where I sat reading it. /fin

A small group of computer hackers volunteered to assist this woman and protect her. They wanted to stay anonymous because they understood that the church went to great lengths to chase down escapees and their protectors. The group spent months helping her. 2/

Great read. Thank you. Whenever the topic of folks leaving Scientology comes up, I recall this article I read in a local SF rag ca 1991 about a mt view woman trying to leave them and how she was harassed both in RL and electronically. The early 90s were still early days for the internet. 1/

“But I coded the initial app for our company in 37 minutes on a Sunday morning. Every problem boils down to selecting the correct tool and algorithm. Convince me I’m wrong.”

The rabbit hole I just ran down trying to estimate the compressive force in newtons of a rubber band * 724. I don’t have an answer, but I learned a little about latex elasticity.

Enshittification—mixing the blue ink with the black because you won’t see it and it makes the blue run out faster forcing you to buy more and the cartridge is coded so that you can only buy OEM and web connected so they know. Turning our devices against us.

It doesn’t help they know they can wait a month and a half for an incoming administration friendly to this behavior. Butter up the pres and his DOJ will leave you alone.

It does not. There are all sorts of devices and software on them that have mild problems or outright security problems. Making it easier (by default) to open up firewall holes would place home networks at even more risk. Not knowing about a thing doesn’t mean it can’t hurt you.

Love the Fine Young Cannibals cover of this. Always thought it was their original. Great to hear this one.
