Governments and countries tend to collapse pretty quickly in modern times. Pharaohs ruled 3000 years. The Roman empire lasted about 1000 years. Tsars ruled Russia for 350 years. Democratic USA lasted 250 years. Historically, perhaps that's a respectable duration.
