It’s sick! This continent has not forgotten where that leads even if Trump and his opportunist ‘friends’ think an ocean will keep them safe - until it doesn’t!

I am taking the decision today not to attend this year’s @sfn.org meeting in protest at the USA’s treatment of the rest of the world (except Russia!) and especially Ukraine. The USA cannot succeed alone in science, economics, war or anything else and needs to learn this fast.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c6.... Starmer invited him? 🤮 Time for the largest ever protest in the UK? I’ll be there!

Fantastic conference, incredible speaker line up. Registration is excellent value and subsidised for students Cambridge Neuroscience Symposium: Interventions & Recovery 10-11 September 2025, Cambridge, UK Open to all! neuroscience.cam.ac.uk/camneuro-eve...

I'm super excited to share our study in collaboration with @jnpruneda.bsky.social, published today in @embojournal.org! We show that PARPs are modified with a non-canonical ester-linked mono-ADP-ribosylated ubiquitin species for the first time in cells: www.embopress.org/doi/full/10....

🧠 Looking for an exciting lab job? @lyons-lab.bsky.social works on mechanisms of myelinated axon formation, health & function and is looking for a technician (deadline 3/3) and a senior imaging technician to work in the UK Zebrafish Imaging & Screening Facility (deadline 14/3). Links below 👇

You’re doing a great job @clairedurrant1.bsky.social (or jobs!). Hope you also manage to find a bit of ‘me’ and ‘us’ time occasionally to keep it sustainable.🤞

Yes, do donate to the Internet Archive - and to Wikipedia.

Welcome to Brian Dickie @bd365.bsky.social on BlueSky! Please give him a follow if you work on neurodegeneration, especially ALS/MND!

A job in our EM facility - my experience as a user has been very positive. A great place to work.

A reminder of the importance of scientists talking to policy-makers - in this case it made the UK far better able to cope with rapid need for Zoom and Teams as pandemic struck! www.hepi.ac.uk/2025/02/19/y...

Please consider signing this letter to the Royal Society if you have not signed already. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... Over 2400 scientists have signed. #microsky #archaesky #astrosky 🧪🦠🧫🔭

📰Today the BNA has released an open letter to research #funders highlighting the urgent need for action to protect #preclinical neuroscience research in the UK. Read our report & open letter to funders here: tinyurl.com/464zezam #researchpolicy #sciencepolicy

I would love to hear your views on this article. I discuss some hurdles I faced when thinking about experiments and projects design. This is something no one formally teaches you. network.febs.org/posts/thinki...

The human brain is a wonderful thing. It starts working the moment you are born and keeps on going right up until you stand up to talk in front of a group of people! George Jessel #PhDchat #ECRchat

Great to connect on BlueSky with @fowlerlab.bsky.social

Posting again. Happy to answer queries.

RFkJr is a threat to human health: when the next pandemic hits we need disease tracking (CDC now silenced) and fast vaccine development (which he opposes). If you live in ME, NC, SD, LA, AK, ID, KY or SD call your senators to oppose his confirmation (hearing this Wed.). (continued, please retweet):

Beautiful paper on mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) stress sensing, from our postdoc Alva Sainz @signscaztl.bsky.social of her Ph.D work in the Shadel lab!
