5. Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) is closed. Over 21,000 entered on this route since it was introduced and there are 22,000 outstanding applications.

4. In-country switching from other visa routes to care worker roles will be permitted until 2028. I think. Requirement to try and recruit from pool of unemployed care workers seeking new sponsorship is being scrapped.

3. Immigration Salary List amended and to be phased out in future, Temporary Shortage List introduced. These are for roles below graduate level where there is considered to be a shortage of domestic workers available. Not eligible to bring family members with them though.

2. Changes to skills and salary thresholds for skilled worker route. New entrants must now be taking up graduate level roles (unless on new Temporary Shortage List), meaning care workers no longer eligible. Salary thresholds also increased to reflect "going rate".

they used HO stats submitted to Eurostat on number of "residence permits" which did *not* include large numbers of ILR holders (even though HO had noted this omission in the footnotes).
Their big failure was a) not asking either HO or experts before publishing b) not correcting for 5 years!
