You know Biden would have gone if he was president and they had been Republicans. And if he hadn't, Republicans would have screamed bloody murder. But Trump can just do whatever vile behavior he wants and they're okay with it.

They have a "dog guard" standing near the urn of their dog. I am crying for all 3 of them but this was extra special. And thank you Joe Biden for coming, you are a true gentleman

I’m not American but I saw Biden give one of the best speeches I’ve seen a president give. It was just after Putin invaded Ukraine and he gave it in Poland on the border as Russian missiles hit Ukranian targets close by. It was an incredible speech. Man did his job very well! What a credit to the US

Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., accused Trump Office of Budget Management Director Russell Vought of being responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children due to the budget cuts he has overseen. (Senate Appropriations Committee)

God it would be awesome if this backfired and led to legal status for millions of undocumented people. And then Stephen Miller dropped dead from a rage stroke over the whole thing.

Shortsighted and hateful. It is not what makes our country great. So easy to find a powerless person and kick them. You’re a sick f*ck if that makes you feel good.

I'm often asked what the average American can do to help turn the nation around. I think it's probably time for organized groups to demand very basic statements of commitment to journalism from corporate outlets—and to make clear that if those outlets can't commit to journalism they'll be boycotted.

The head of every corporate media enterprise should be willing to publicly make this commitment: We don't republish or condone slurs—implicitly or explicitly.
My view is that any corporate media enterprise unwilling to make this commitment publicly should be abandoned by every single viewer it has.

What that looks like is telling cable guests that if they use slurs they won't be asked back. If you call a Democratic politician a Democrat politician—an old slur that's an allegation of Communism (Google it)—you won't be asked back to the show. Just so if you call Mamdani a Communist or Socialist.

I've been a journalist for 30+ years and have worked in a newsroom. You have to start with baby steps.
An easy baby step to start with is to commit whatever publication you work for to not publish slurs.
Slurs are never newsworthy; they're disinformation.
Let sources know you won't repeat them.
