I really cannot recommend the Dharmapunx NYC podcast highly enough. Each episode from Josh is great in it's own right, but also I have had several occasions where an episode covering just the topic I need is published within 1-2 weeks from the day I look.

Between the general low knowledge that most ppl wield wrt to how gov functions, it does seem some kind of improved civics education is in order. To wit, I simply did not understand marginal tax rates well until a few years after college - I think it was a Sam Seder explanation tbh.

Probably too much or an ideal, sure - but also seems necessary on some level to restore any semblance of a civic ethic. Realizing how much this tendency to fully fabricate everything has seeped into public life has caused some personal demoralization in the past.

Dude was visiting his fiancé, who lives in Vegas. His English isn’t good so he misunderstood the border goons when they asked where he lives, he said Vegas, they took him away for questioning without a translator and now he’s been in a jail for two weeks.
