During Malmö and Eurovision 2024 we talked a lot about artist's mental health and the pressures competing place on them. As I look back at the Melfest result, I'm unhappy with my harsh reaction to an artist's reaction. I hope that we all have more empathy on how hard that loss would feel.

Buddies, Sturgill Simpson and his band played for two hours and forty minutes. They covered the Allman Brothers. They played songs from every album. They jammed, they rocked out; they started the set by playing for forty five solid minutes without no breaks between songs. I fucking LOVED it.

I've been watching the Malta Eurovision selector, and am re-remembering how fun this language is. Mostly Arabic, a healthy sprinkling of Italian, and then English words or cognates to fill in the modern gaps.
