If you’ve even casually dabbled in ambient, avant-garde, or electronic music, Tim Hecker’s name probably requires little introduction. In a rare interview, the Montréal-based musician talked to Stereogum about film, gear, fashion, and his new album ‘Shards' out tomorrow.

There’s this little dreamy, strange, dark, funny movie by Alice Lowe called TIMESTALKER streaming in US now, god I loved it. If you like Barry Lyndon, Time Bandits, Orlando & Kate Bush music videos you might too. Yet again she’s bitterly funny as a woman driven mad by constraints & her own desires.

Not sure anybody ever expected to see Phil Mitchell singing Since Yesterday on EastEnders, but last night we did. I reckon Grant would do a great Lovecats and Bianca would absolutely burn it down belting out Temple of Love. We live in hope.

I think plenty of people now understand that Richard Dawson is a once-in-a-generation kind of talent, globally as well as locally, but even by his own standards End Of The Middle is a truly great LP, his best since Peasant IMHO, FWIW.
