Mr. Trump had come to realize that the relationship between the United States & Canada was governed by a slew of agreements & treaties that were easy to abandon... He wanted to tear up the Great Lakes agreements that lay out how they share and manage Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie & Ontario.

On Jan. 6, 2025, the Crown filed an appeal.
The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal has yet to decide if it will hear the case.

On Dec. 13, 2024, Kennedy's impaired driving causing death charge was stayed in a Saskatoon court.
Judge Jane Wootten ruled Kennedy's Charter rights were violated because she was not tried within a reasonable time.
