Fair. As I said in another comment, I donāt actually believe it was written by ai either, just both the story and dialogue are so frustrating at some points it feels like it, but understand if the joke didnāt work.

Honesty, I would have LOVED if they intentionally threw in a few cheeky nods to Black Sails. Iād have been praising it and urging Black Sails fans to watch it. Disavowing it seems like a missed opportunity.

It does! I donāt necessarily think it is ai, but the qualities are similar. Hitting what it thinks are important plot beats but no heart or whimsy, just trying to capture the magic of s1 with no understanding of what made people like it in the first place.

As much as I hate to be fair to DJ, itās possible he hadnāt and some of the smaller more pointed details came from another writer who had. But someone blew past the line of cheeky nod/ homage into straight up copying. Or he fed the scrips into an ai to make s2. Either or.

Exactly. He/the writers were paid to do unique work. Cribbing from another work, especially how small a genre this is, is baffling and insulting.

Yeah, full lines of unique dialogue or full story arcs are not homage.
Oh the other hand, if this was intentional, Iād love it to bits and never stop laughing about it

Also, watch black sails if you like well written period dramas and queer pirates.

Yeah, and I am fully willing to admit that when theres writing in the same time period about some of the same characters, thereās bound to be natural overlap. Or there was even what was read as an homage or two to BS in season 1. But by season two it didnāt feel like coincide anymore š¤Ø

Guess you can feed the scripts into ai without watching it š

100% it makes no sense to us as outside viewers and the story does nothing to explain why Izzy would feel that way in universe based on what we saw.
The only thing that makes any sense to me is Izzy wants it to be true or is trying to make himself believe it.

Unreal watching people trip over themselves to validate him 𤨠I hope he gets a new project soon just so heāll stop talking about this show.

Absolutely baffling. What a boring, heteronormative idea of sex appeal. But Iām sure every other way s2 was less queer was the fault of hbo, not the man who thinks making a character more traditionally masculine makes him sexier š

Well, I have dozens of fics bookmarked that say otherwise lol

Also, living with a wire string coming out of my body for a week was a major ick š¤¢

thereās a string from the end of the stent thatās in the bladder through the urethra and out the body where you pee. They said I could just remove the stent by pulling on the string ālike removing a tamponā š¤Ø

A month?!? Omg Iām so sorry. How miserable.
I hope you donāt need a stint. They told me I could pull it out at home myself or Iād have to pay to come in and have a nurse do it. I thought they were kidding. They werenāt. š¬ (I paid)

Oh no! Is it the punch you in the kidney a lot to break it up surgery or the go up inside and pull it out surgery?
Also, if they are putting a stint in, be prepared for a week after of intermittent pain in the kidney and bladder. š

Iāve only had one too and it was a shock how bad it was. Iād heard of kidney stones but never that they are that debilitating. The nurse in the ER said she had given birth and had a kidney stone and the stone was worse and how is this not more talked about??

Oh no, those are awful. Hope it passes quickly for you.
