i think it does vash as a character a huge disservice to not acknowledge how much of his character is based around looking at/acknowledging a hard truth and then deciding to do something about it, on his terms, to make it better. that's his agency at work. that's his /defiance/ at work

does he have solutions for all problems? no! is he a perfect person? absolutely not! what he is is stubborn like a donkey stuck in shit, willing to put his money where his mouth is, and not make excuses abt what he's doing and how he might be wrong but is doing Something bc it's better than Nothing
