The new tech here being "What if I just take a bunch of stir sticks from Starbucks and use those as wooden planks?"
I then promptly obscured them with the model, but in my defense, I've never claimed to be smart.

It really is great stuff. Their entire 'muted' ink line is worth checking out, but I keep coming back to the grey.

I started basecoating the Observer wraith last night. I was really happy with how well they printed - all those wispy trails make me nervous about fails, but they printed great!

Yeah, this stuff has been reused/filtered a few times now. I do multi-stage washing and this stuff has been through all the parts by now. Time for it to rest in the sky.

Rose Gwinnell - Human bard that ended up in Barovia. She helped defeat Strahd but ended up part ghost as a result. Now she runs a tavern called The Last Drop Inn. There on the nights of the New Moon the spirits of the recently dead gather for one last pint before being ushered on to What's Next.

Liquitex Muted Grey is a great shader. Mix it with speed medium to work into cracks and pits, mix it with base color to add shaded area, underspray with an airbrush to help focus light, etc.

Pretty much my first question now upon seeing a new mini is "Does it plinth?"

I realize now I should have jazzed up the base before attaching him but it was late and the poor old guy kept falling over.

Telraka Dogmurder
Telraka comes from an old goblin legendary hero, Dogmurder comes from the first thing Telraka's parents saw when they looked outside the birthing tent after she was born.

Until, of course, he didn't and in his rage threw those dice at the wall, putting a hole in the drywall and getting a ban from the store.

I remember one of my first games playing with a friend's borrowed ork army against a local shop's That Guy who had some sort of Oops All Terminators cheese. Couldn't touch him, he just kept rolling saves on these big stone d6s.

Yeah, they're from Papsikels and Unit 9. I'm not one for tournies so it's hard for me to justify splashing out for CB minis when I have a resin printer and a grudge against them for what they did to Aleph.

And you can see the moment I gave up on the stripes. By the time I figured out the technique, I had gone over them so much I risked the sword turning into a club.

I am fully aware of the irony that I'll happily put 8 hours into painting a piece but will balk at putting more than 8 seconds into taking a picture of it.
