Hi hello I’m just another person that has an affinity for Taylor Swift, corn, infosec, industrial processes, and isn’t a furry. There are dozens of us, I’m sure of it. Anyway, good luck finding my main here. My opsec is amazing. I’m not a furry. He/Him

*pissing on a bonfire furry noises*

Somebody is upset that his parade got upstaged and wants to reset the narrative by lighting fires in major cities. I think @jamellebouie.net has been correct to argue that, in fact, this tactic is hurting Trump, not helping him.

Pretty striking how trans people are two of the three reasons he gives for sending armed kidnappers into major cities, just detached scapegoating for the sake of scapegoating

Because I like to fill my TL with things that Dems are doing that BlueSky users claim don't exist, here's a presser (again led by Jimmy Gomez, who has been everywhere in the last week).

Sen. Alex Padilla, who was just forcibly removed from a DHS press conference, is the ranking member of Judiciary’s subcommittee on immigration, citizenship, and border safety, which has “oversight of federal agencies with citizenship, asylum, refugee, and immigration enforcement responsibilities.”

I’ve never forgotten this picture from 2016 and how it completely reshaped my understanding of how the media covers protests.

Rewording my earlier post. RFK Jr will be testifying before Congress. I am interested in what experts and others think would be the best way to leverage this time and opportunity for the public good. If you were behind the dais for this hearing, what would you do? What do you want to see asked?

This is how. Greta Thunberg spits fire and gives you the only media training you may ever need.

It's really funny to me that I'm on so many "no NSFW" block lists. Is just being a furry considered NSFW now?

just a bunch of sad little guys who can’t admit dealing with oatmeal-brained nazis sucks because it would require admitting that folks to the left of genghis khan have a point

I assume this is a lie, and they're actually using information from servicemember databases to identify and locate veterans for deportation. That is what Trump and DOGE promised they do with the personal data they stole, it's been a top priority since Day One. They know, they're just not telling.

In case you weren't aware, the curfews put in place for a manufactured crisis, have real impacts on people's livelihoods.

Our parents and grandparents watched measles and polio steal the lives of children. We built vaccines to stop that heartbreak.   RFK Jr.’s reckless firing of vaccine experts isn’t just irresponsible – it’s a dangerous betrayal that will cost lives. www.cnbc.com/2025/06/09/r...

It's just a violent military crackdown on peaceful protestors, not something serious like a magazine editor getting fired for being bad at editing.

Turns out, you need to let them know that you’re aware of the recent court order and then they approve your submission 🤷‍♂️

The airlines also sold our data to ICE. Jesus.

There seems to be a lot of folklore and misinformation circulating around tear gas. If anyone will take the word of an organic/medicinal chemist with over 40 years in the lab, then here comes my chemical advice:

1. This is very bad "you should talk to your lawyer and shut up and especially don't go publicly say this" behavior. 2. There is absolutely nothing illegal in sharing the location of ICE or any other law enforcement activity. Not just it's constitutionally protected, there's no statute against it.

that's correct -- everyone is trying to avoid collapsing the wave function. Democracy in the US is like an airplane that has inoperative landing gear and an engine out. if you just keep status quo of it being in the air, everyone's alive. the instant you try to land it, things go unpredictable.

For my blog, I wrote about how governments classify violence and why the hyperfocus on peaceful protests means peaceful protests by YOU and not peaceful action by the COPS the-haters-guide-to-international-politics.ghost.io/the-state-vi...

"who was president in 2020" remains the most difficult question in the world for a sizable chunk of americans, professional commentators included

NEW: California files an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order to stop the Trump admin from using "the federalized California National Guard and active duty Marines for law enforcement purposes on the streets of a civilian city." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

many people do not know that despite holding a valid work visa, a Customs and Border Patrol officer can reject my re-entry into the United States anyway

I spent so many years covering propaganda anticipating this exact moment and so many of my peers bought the paid-for contrarian line that even covering disinformation was somehow, itself, censorship. Now we're at the event horizon. Celebration is protest is riot is justification for a police state.

Reporters: please make sure that the legal scholars you are talking to are discussing the law that Trump says he is relying on. That law is not the Insurrection Act. Their old articles about the Insurrection Act may not be helpful. Ask them about 10 USC 12406: www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/...

The military literally fought a domestic war against coal miners a century ago. Like full on shooting war.

the reason all of this “wealth exodus” shit is always overblown is that rich people like living in cool places they will whine, they will complain, they will throw more money than they’re being taxed at reactionary causes but at the end of the day they like living in NYC and aren’t leaving

get immunized for everything. if you have a health care provider, they have a list of what immunizations you’ve had. get the ones you haven’t… hpv, mmr, flu, monkeypox, covid- demand them

Gavin Newsom called the National Guard deployment "unlawful." Good! If he believes the unit is still his to command, then he should order them to leave LA and return to their armory. Give the lawful order for them to stand down and dare the California Army National Guard to defy the governor.

the current administration sees arrest (and deportation!) as inherently valid punishment. and law as a secondary, optional way to add onto it this is cruel, but also better aligned with the day I day reality of the justice system than your average Democrat is capable of understanding

UPDATE: Nick is in good spirits and recovering in hospital. The doctor told me the injury was so bad that they treated it as if it were a gunshot wound. Part of a stun grenade traveled deep into the tissue and was only visible by a cat scan. He sends his love and appreciation for all the support.

At this point I have nothing to say to or about protestors. The executive should not be sending active duty military to a major city with a vague mandate, in violation of the only statute that he has cited, while his lawyers draft rules of engagement on the fly. Period.
