I've said it before, I'll say it again - John Liebesman's TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING blows the '03 remake out of the water, and actually redeems it with its twisted efforts. And Wildstorm's comic followup makes for a perfect modern trilogy. Sucks about, well, EVERY movie after that...

Today is my birthday. I've somehow survived to the ripe old age of 42. It's been an INCREDIBLY trying year (only two-thirds left to go!), but there have been some dizzying highs mixed in with the shattering lows. I celebrate those highs with brand new SURGERYHEAD. Monsignor Fulci's immortal classic THE BEYOND...is, I must somewhat shamefully admit, my LEAST favorite of his rotting canon. It's fucking GREAT but I honestly think City of the Living Dead clears it in the "Gates of Hell" trilogy and Zombi and House are just more fun? I await your volley of stones!
