It’s exactly the same mentality as the lazy hateful knee jerk europhobia that led to Brexit - from the top down, from the UK PM to your dad on facebook, bemoaning eurocrats and the ‘bloated Brussels bureaucracy’, when in reality these are dedicated professionals working hard for a better society.

As an American I sadly agree with you. One of my grandfathers stormed the beaches in D-day to end Facism only for a Facist to become president years later. How far we have fallen hurts me to no end. Just know that not all Americans are evil.
