The batteries are absolutely recyclable, but they're mostly just reused for grid storage after they can no longer run a vehicle. My local scrapyard has no problem selling EV batteries, they never have any available. Also, I have over a million combined miles on Toyota hybrid batteries all running.

Burning isn't the environmentally friendly answer, dismantle them and EV swap existing cars with their components.
