Hey 👋 @casualbirderpod.bsky.social thanks for the big shout out on the @ajaytegala.bsky.social #136PodCastEpisode you give me too much credit but I do appreciate it … hope to see you & birdwatch in 2025 with you & John

This morning, I'll be giving a presentation on "Moth recording in Staffordshire" at the Staffordshire Invertebrate Science Fair, Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent. #MothsMatter #TeamMoth

New episode! I join @ajaytegala.bsky.social in a hide at Wicken Fen, waiting for Marsh & Hen Harriers. While we wait, he tells me about the awesome wildlife found there, from graceful dragonflies to the elusive bitterns and the enchanting dawn chorus of late spring. 🪶 casualbirder.com/episode136

Alt text is there for a reason. It’s important to people with visual impairments, some of whom use screen reader / text-to-speech software. I’ve set my account so I have to add alt text to post and importantly I’m working on improving what I include. #birdingWales #birdingScotland #UKbirding 🪶

Atrocious weather yesterday for our guided day trip to The Brecks but we still managed to see 2 NORTHERN GOSHAWK, 7 WOODLARK, HAWFINCH, MARSH TIT, BRAMBLING, YELLOWHAMMER, SISKINS and lots more. #suffolkbirding #BirdsSeenIn2025 #birds #norfolkbirding

The weather looks great this Saturday so why not join shrikebirdingtours.com for a wonderful morning looking for some great birds? #ukbirding

Huge thanks to Simon Johnson for providing us with this great info from a colour-ringed Turnstone he photographed at Baiter late last year: Ringed as an adult female on 08.03.2024 near Alert, Nunavut, Canada Alert is the northernmost continuously inhabited place in the world about 4000km away!

I found this Issus nymph in Belhus Woods Country Park, Essex, on 23 February.

Rainham Marshes will be closed tomorrow due to staff sickness

Blog of our WildEssex walk today 'Hunting the Elves' www.chrisgibsonwildlife.co.uk/wildessexwal...

Let's not forget the lovely Tree Sparrow. Back in the 1970s at Rye Meads we used to ring 400 per year, but they are now extinct in the county. Luckily they are still plentiful at Welney.
