Democracy & the rule of law

A Republican congressman just introduced a bill to abolish OSHA and get rid of federal safety protections for workers. Remind me— wasn’t it Republicans who claimed that they were the party of the working class?

BREAKING: FBI agents file unprecedented class action lawsuit against Trump's Department of Justice.

So far, in a week...we saw the: - complete relinquishing of the Dept of Treasury - complete relinquishing of the VA - dismantling & elimination of Dept of Education, no resistance - dismantling & elimination of USAID, no resistance - forced firing of FBI, a protest happening - forced firing of CIA

The rush to destroy things like USAID and other agencies before lawsuits can stop them is to make it moot. When our stupidly slow judicial system finally moves to stop them it will be far too late. If all 10,000 USAID employees are home and projects abandoned it’s done. It’s evil.

Every day is Christmas for Putin now.

USAID’s website has been deleted, all that is left is a note saying all personnel are now on administrative leave and personnel outside the US are to be brought home. Completely illegal, no act of congress or even executive order was signed to dismantle the agency

Yesterday’s live is now on YouTube: m.youtube.com/watch?featur...

@raskin.house.gov: "This is a coup, which is a seizure of state power by unelected actors... In addition to everything that Trump is doing to dismantle every part of gov’t that doesn't profit him personally, we have this additional problem of Elon Musk trying to consolidate state power under him."

Here's the new office wall.

2 walls of my collection. Yep, there's a desk in there somewhere.

NASA analysed an asteroid and revealed that key molecules required for life on Earth were found. This suggests that the conditions necessary for the emergence of life were widespread across the solar system, increasing the odds of life having formed on other planets and moons.

stunning beauty.
