people can enjoy stuff for fun in general sure, but if its dumbed down to a degree it feels so actively harmful. cinema shouldnt be sanitised for enjoyment only because it strips away so much. if u cant pick it apart to enjoy in a nuanced way then whats the point yk

for me too i consumed a lot of edgy animal media in my early yrs surrounding illegal pet trades and poaching and stuff and it gave me a lot of empathy towards the environment too... that stuff moves u for the rest of ur life very early on.

i think its rly important to treat ur kids with nuanced media to get them aware of the world and be able to critically discern topics in real life as well. u hear a lot of ppl growing up watching things like watership down and becoming very environmentally-conscious from a young age-
