Very impressed by all those in the US creatively standing up against the grave insults being inflicted on their state. Slava Ukraini! Also slava the Lib Dems in Surrey.

'Frankly A Bit Weird': Senior Tory Blasted For Claiming Lib Dems Want '4-Day Week And Veganism' www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/frankl...

‘His ability to switch from a loving partner to a monster kept me in a permanent state of stress’

Think yesterday has a claim to be one of best days for this Government. 3 reasons 1. Taking control of the plant/nationalisation popular in of itself 2. More widely it shows Government can take control of situations 3. Gave Labour a definition/purpose that has been lacking

Sumy 💔 24 people killed, including one child. 84 people injured, including seven children. The Russian missile was a cluster one to maximize the damage. The most victims were in the trolleybus.

Heartbreaking scenes from Sumy this morning as residents gathered for Palm Sunday only to be met by Russian missiles. Horrific example of Russia intensifying attacks while Ukraine has accepted an unconditional ceasefire. My thoughts are with the Ukrainian people today.

Some of these points are clearly highly conspiratorial, but this kind of pitch from Farage is, I imagine, pretty effective electorally.

The list of university sackings below must now include Coventry, Derby, Hull and Lincoln. That's twelve universities getting rid of staff... in just ten days. Still nothing is done. 🇬🇧

Far too many people across the country are still struggling to get a GP appointment when they need one. The Conservatives ran health services into the ground but it is now the Labour government not showing nearly enough ambition to break this cycle of misery.

UK MP denied entry to Hong Kong https://www.ft.com/content/3ac13947-cd31-42e7-ba5d-0a261ef4e365

If the government can pay a foreign state to imprison you and, in so doing, remove you from the protection of US law, the Constitution is worthless.

Last weekend in Chicago, 1500 historians gathered for the Organization of American Historians' conference where leading scholars discussed little things like, oh, the fate of democracy. I guess if we add some horny Nazis next year maybe CNN will come out and listen to what we have to say?

Plastic rain. 🧪

This is a long-term problem in Europe more widely than just the UK. Perhaps if the rich want to talk about all their "job creation" they could start here and be more adventurous with their investing.

Yep, I still don't think people realize how dire the situation actually is internally...

I am the first MP to be refused entry on arrival to Hong Kong since 1997. Authorities gave me no explanation for this cruel and upsetting blow. I hope the Foreign Secretary will recognise that this is an insult to all parliamentarians and seek answers from the Chinese Ambassador.

They make this sound like an obituary 🥺 All the best to Eddie Howe for a speedy recovery 🙏 ⚽https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c98gjez5yd7o

Wera just wanted to visit her son in Hong Kong and meet her baby grandson for the first time. But after a 13-hour flight, the Chinese authorities turned her away – just because she’s a British MP. So heartless. And totally unacceptable.

This is deeply shocking. I feel for Wera, on a personal trip and unable to meet her baby grandson. Her only crime? Being a British MP. David Lammy must demand answers from the Chinese ambassador for this initimidatory behaviour.

More unconstitutional seizure of Congress' spending power: Trump does not have the authority to do this, this is yet another sign that we're living under a tyrant who rules us outside the constitutional order

Gosh 👇

every single Democrat in the Senate confirmed this

Perfect.

Farage and Badenoch cheered on the Trump administration. They owe British steelworkers an apology. We’re waiting…

I wouldn't want to take on the Chinese 😬

The exclusion covers more than $300 billion worth of trade, including $100 billion from China, about a quarter of Chinese imports. It's a huge change and the put it out late on a Friday night with no press release

I fought globalisation and globalisation won...

Trump has - late last night - exempted about a quarter of Chinese imports from his tariff war with China

Trump blinks again: smart phones, laptops and at least some chips now exempt from the reciprocal tariffs, including (as I understand it) from China.

A really important intervention from #Surrey Lib Dems 🔶 in response to the government's new planning reforms 👇

I just wrote a book about how 1960s satirists produced a hoax US government document that many thought was real. In contrast, the current US government has just produced a real government document that many think is a hoax.

Glad to see we’re addressing the root cause of all of this: Luther’s heresy

Much of England & Wales had the driest March for over 60 years, with less than 1mm being recorded for the entire month. April is now predicted to have little significant rainfall. It's the main planting season for crops... we need to start talking seriously about #FoodSecurity & reducing #FoodWaste.

“A feed creaking with ads, an infinite garage sale two tabs over: Facebook’s final form … hosts not connections, but transactions. In fact, that seems to be the lesson Facebook has been gesturing at this whole time: Connections are transactions.“ Smart piece by @evanmcmurry.theatlantic.com

Liverpool currently 1-0 up 👍 ⚽

Debate now underway in the UK Parliament about nationalising British Steel. The reason why the government has focused on that, rather than the plant in Port Talbot, Wales, is that Scunthorpe makes a different kind of steel, used for defence, rail and construction so strategically important.
