Really appreciate @councilorepg.bsky.social perspective here! Portland is ready for a comeback and we need to acknowledge the challenges AND the opportunities ahead.

Tomorrow I’m chairing the Climate Committee and community advocates and scientists will share information about renewable fuels! Tune in or sign up to testify (you can testify virtually, in person, or submit written testimony on your climate priorities for the city) www.portland.gov/council/agen...

#StopZenith rally with @350pdx.bsky.social & @portlanddsa.bsky.social !!!! Holding big energy accountable with @councilorgreen.bsky.social @councilormorillo.bsky.social & @councilortiffany.bsky.social

❗️UPDATE❗️ Due to logistical, timing, and capacity issues, the Zenith Resolution will be on the 3/10 Transportation Committee agenda. This doesn’t indicate a lack of prioritization or support from the Chair, it’s purely logistical. @councilorgreen.bsky.social & I are still moving full steam ahead.

@councilorgreen.bsky.social & I have received questions about the timing of the Zenith resolution. While it didn’t make it to the 2/19 Council agenda, it will be going through the Transportation & Infrastructure committee to be referred to Council on 2/24 www.portland.gov/council/agen...

As one of three renters on City Council, I know how much the cost of rent is hurting Portland families. I look forward to sharing more about this policy with my colleagues at our next Housing Committee meeting on February 25th!

📢 Show some love to our community by helping us get the word out 📢 Eight severe shelters are open all day today (Friday, Feb. 14) through *at least* 10 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 15): multco.us/news/news-re...

Please help if you can get to and from the shelters safely!

Climate, Resilience, and Land Use committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Participate online. Please do not come to City Hall due to inclement weather and building closures. Looking forward to the Chairs’ agenda: Councilor Morillo @councilormorillo.bsky.social & Novick www.portland.gov/council/agen...

The resolution is submitted and we look forward to having it on the agenda for a hearing soon! As co-chair of the climate committee, Council must have all the information to make a decision on an issue of such high public interest. Thank you to the advocates who have long pushed Portland.

UPDATE FEB. 11, 2025: ⚠️Multnomah County will open 5 shelters tonight (Feb. 11) at 8 p.m. until noon Wednesday as the forecast calls for bitterly cold temps & wind. The Chair has extended the state of emergency so TriMet will not turn away anyone unable to pay for a ride to a warming shelter.

Today, Portland City Council announced the policy committee meeting schedule. Committees meet on the second and fourth weeks of each month on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Get more info about the policy committees here: www.portland.gov/council/news...

Severe weather shelters opening TODAY, Feb. 4, 2025 at 7 pm: • Cook Plaza (19421 SE Stark St, Gresham) • Hollywood (1815 NE 43rd Ave, Portland) • NW 14th Ave (600 NW 14th Ave, Portland) Visit multco.us/cold for health & safety guidance and a map of shelter locations & daytime warming spaces.

Thank you Councilor Dunphy, solidarity! 💚

Brrrrr! PBOT crews placed 8,250 gallons of liquid anti-icer on Portland streets overnight. Slow down and watch for icy spots during your morning commute! Be extra cautious on bridges and overpasses. More winter weather travel tips 👇 www.portland.gov/transportati...

While I did receive a call from the Mayor at 7:30 in the morning about this, I was informed the LUCS would be approved within the hour. I hadn’t even gotten to City Hall yet. @councilorgreen.bsky.social and I kept Mayor Wilson up to date on our Zenith resolution constantly, to be good partners.

UPDATE FEB 2: Multnomah County continues to meet regularly w/ the National Weather Service and partners to monitor the forecast. Weather conditions are not currently forecast to reach severe weather shelter thresholds. We are ready to go if conditions worsen: multco.us/cold

“Our role as elected officials is to be watchdogs on policy decisions that are coming before us. The public deserves, we deserve, to have all of the information in front of us before we make a decision on granting (a land-use credential).”

Thank you @councilorgreen.bsky.social for your consistent support for communities being targeted right now, solidarity forever 💪🏼

We’ve received hundreds of emails telling us that Portlanders want climate champions. As watchdogs of policy and as representatives of the community, we deserve a full investigation into Zenith’s permitting process so we can make a decision informed by facts. This will increase transparency & trust.

I worked on SNAP policy before being elected to City Council. The Trump administration’s impacts on federal programs that support families, elderly people, disabled people, parents, children, can’t be overstated. He’s dismantling our social safety net.

I appreciate this statement from Police Chief Day very much. I’ve been asked this question a lot so I’m adding this in good faith for my constituents - if you see an officer collaborating with ICE, you can file an anonymous report through the Independent Police Review. Translation is available.
