Well, it's Oscars time again, and as an animation enthusiast, my eyes are solely focussed on the Best Animated Feature category. I'm rooting for Wild Robot. Roz deserves an Oscar.

"Looks like someone's out of resource gems."

Every time I see someone say Stranger Things should have been one season, I have to remind them of the Kate Bush scene with Max. (And The Neverending Story duet)

John Oliver is the only person I don’t need captions for.

I dunno, the further I get from the Captain America: Brave New World premiere, the more fond I become of the film. I want to see it again. It was a fun. And I don't think that's a bad thing.

***SPOILER ALERT*** It's a really small thing, but one of my favorite moments of Captain America: Brave New World was just Bucky giving Sam a hug and telling him he loved him. That's all. Just a small act of human kindness between two bros.

I am just so ridiculously happy to see John Oliver right now.

Had a great time reconnecting with @siftpop.bsky.social today and remising about past episodes they had me on. Best of luck to the podcast wherever it goes next. 🙂

“I don’t like your phrase.”

Was chatting with a friend today, and we concluded that Captain America: Brave New World was not a good movie. But it was a fun movie. I enjoyed it well enough. Hear my full review: www.kuaf.com/show/ozarks-...

I'll tell ya what would have been better than a "live action" Lilo and Stitch is a live action Special Agent Cobra Bubbles prequel.

Captain America: Brave New World is. . . serviceable. It has some fun moments. When Red Hulk finally shows up, we get the payoff. It's an entertaining showdown. Sam's first solo movie is a fine intro to him as Cap. Ford doesn't dial it in at all. Carl Lumbly steals the show in all his scenes.

Laszlo Cravensworth would like to know your location.

No matter how good the "live-action" How To Train Your Dragon looks, I'm always going to be asking, "Why do you exist?" The cartoon is perfect. Anything the remake does will pale by comparison.

Once again for all the streaming services in back: If I pay for AD FREE, that means you can't try to sneak trailers in before the video I actually chose to watch. A trailer for your own show/movie is still an ad.

In studying, you must have learned that man is mortal!

No matter what, she’s absolutely tearing up Philly tonight:

What I would give for Disney to open the archives, dust off the pencils, and give us one more traditional, 2D animated film.

A golf-themed tavern called Bar For The Course.

Set out to climb Tea Mountain yesterday, but it was too steep.

Movies have to earn their slow-motion walk scenes.

Jurassic World suddenly remembering there's a Site B after ignoring it for three movies. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jan5...

DC should do the ultimate crossover and make Harley Quinn, Medicine Woman.

Mr. Rogers would carefully lift Mjölnir, use it to gently hammer a single nail into the wall, hang a framed finger painting a child mailed him, and then carefully set the weapon down before turning to admire the artwork.

Just take one dip, and end it!

I miss Skeleton Crew.

I'm honestly not sure what to think. The last Final Destination wrapped up the franchise with a nice, neat loop. I hope the new one remembers to balance creative deaths with appropriate tension and lore. That's what always made the previous films worth watching. #filmsky

I fervently maintain that Madame Web and Morbius are "so bad they're good" movies.

You can listen to my review on Love Me, a new sci-fi romance film starring Steven Yeun and Kristen Stewart here: It's a neat concept, but it's stretched too thin. This would have worked better as a short film. www.kuaf.com/show/ozarks-... #filmsky #movies #film

Love Me is an interesting concept stretched too thin. It drags hard in the middle despite Yeun and Stewart giving it their all. They've got good chemistry, but this clearly should have been a short film. There are some chuckles at the start and some heart at the end, but it's not enough. #FilmSky

I just realized Zootopia and Amazing Spider-Man 2 have the exact same ending structure. Emotional speech —> Silly incident —> end

The Glassworker is a beautifully-animated story about the horrors of war. The art is wonderful. The story has an important lesson. And the ending is bittersweet. I hope it gets a wide release someday so more people can watch it. #filmsky #animation

Finally watching:

Honestly, if “AI” stays this dumb, I don’t think Kyle Reese is gonna travel back from the future to warn us about it.
