New issue is out! www.cell.com/neuron/current The cover illustrates the paper by Li et al. on a subpopulation of pontospinal projection neurons that dampen nociception in mice. Find the paper here: www.cell.com/neuron/abstr... And a preview of this work here: www.cell.com/neuron/abstr...

Excited to share our new paper out in @cp-neuron.bsky.social today! We discovered the neuroanatomical route that myeloid cells use to enter the brain parenchyma. Check it out here: authors.elsevier.com/c/1lCYs3BtfH...

Thank you to @fox13seattle.bsky.social for sharing today's launch of the Armamentarium, a suite of genetic tools that could change how we target brain diseases. 🧠📈

In the battle against brain disease, researchers can now rely on a new arsenal of genetic tools – The Armamentarium. Together with scientists from across the NIH BRAIN Initiative, we’ve created and published over 1000 new enhancer AAV vectors. 🧠📈

Shout out to all the amazing scientists who worked on these 8 studies - your work will accelerate neuroscience research globally! We're grateful to play a part in helping these tools reach labs worldwide. www.addgene.org/collections/...

We've launched the Armamentarium, a new toolkit for targeted gene delivery to the brain and spinal cord. This #OpenScience resource was made possible thanks to support from the NIH BRAIN Initiative and teamwork with our collaborators. 🧠📈 www.nih.gov/news-events/...

New Neuron issue! Discover methods for accessing neuronal and non-neuronal cell types in the CNS from the BRAIN Armamentarium Consortium. 🧠🔧 Read insights from Bosiljka Tasic & @gordfishell.bsky.social: www.cell.com/neuron/fullt... Explore the full issue here: www.cell.com/neuron/current

🚨Very excited to share a new paper from our lab in Neuron (@cp-neuron.bsky.social) on the influence of the estrous cycle on structural and functional plasticity in the hippocampus: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... Thread below 🧠🧪🧵:

Excited to share my PhD paper! In it, we use targeted 2-photon optogenetic stimulation to determine how V1 activity is read-out in a detection task. We found that network influence, not visual coding properties, predicted the impact of ensembles on behavior - contradicting our expectations (1/5).

Where does Alzheimer’s begin in the brain? Our study in @cp-neuron.bsky.social shows that the earliest amyloid-related neuronal dysfunction emerges selectively in deep cortical layers (layers 5/6), targeting fast-spiking parvalbumin interneurons via reductions in NPTX2. www.cell.com/neuron/fullt...

Thrilled to share my first first-author paper is out @cp-neuron.bsky.social! We show that Alzheimer's disease protective CLU alleles upregulate CLU in response to neuropathology, dampening inflammatory signaling between microglia and astrocytes. Read here www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

The interpeduncular nucleus (IPN) dampens nicotine reward via β4* nAChRs and IPN→LDTg projections. Blocking this pathway enhances VTA responses and CPP: A nicotine-specific brake embedded in the mesolimbic system. New paper from the lab out in @cp-neuron.bsky.social www.cell.com/neuron/abstr...
