I dream that one day our sidewalks will be as wide as our trucks.

Alberta has allocated $8.5 Billion on Transportation. Most of it on roads, and some is for transit. What if Alberta spent some of that on active transportation?🤔 #yycBike #Calgary www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Having a Calgary Transit ticket included in the purchase of any major event would be amazing! Calgary needs to make this happen! #Calgary

Vote for Calgary in the Strongest Town contest! It's the only Canadian city in the running and that feels extra special now 🇨🇦 www.strongesttown.com

Feels like May in #yyc 😳 I am enjoying the large snow sculptures in the elementary school yards after last nights much needed snow fall.

Loved the ‘Help shape Calgary’s Future’ event today. It was a good reminder that listening and sharing personal stories is the best way to change minds.

After speaking to council yesterday on the approval of the Riley LAP I got quoted in the Hearald. Huge thanks to all the other speakers who came out to speak in support. calgaryherald.com/news/local-n...

Planning to ride to this open house that’ll cover some big investment in 5A Infrastructure? There are two racks on site at the Legion building on Kensington Rd. One at the front and one in the side. #yycBike #5ANetwork

Pansies March 2 in YYC. 😳

Results, not accidents. calgaryherald.com/opinion/colu... #calgary #yyccc

I do love these dudes.

Loving my morning bus ride with a really happy driver welcoming each rider on board and well wishes to departures. Whole bus is in a good mood.

Jung-Suk came and presented this project to the Hillhurst Sunnyside Planning Committee. He had so much passion and what he showed us would be such a great asset to the community at large. I really hope this gets built.

HOT RESEARCH NEWS! Motonormativity ("car brain") is a bias that stops people making rational judgements about driving en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motonor... Our new study shows where this bias comes from AND how it makes people think they're odd for supporting changes to the transport system 🧵

Now would be a good time to announce a major infrastructure project in Alberta that involves lots of steel and aluminum. I’m thinking an electric regional passenger rail system. 🚊😀👍 #Alberta www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

If Toyota had offered this for my 2007 Yaris I would still own that car. Best vehicle ever except for the inconvenience of filling up.

What a city decides to subsidize says a bit about its priorities. In #YYC youth transit costs are 23% less then adult transit costs. Pets are free. I guess thier thinking pets earning potential is zero where as youth can totally earn 2/3rds of adults while balancing school? Did I get that right?

Gardening in Canada. I may be a bit early accedently leaving my planted seeds to close to a space heater when the back up to our heat pump had a glitch yesterday. Heat pump runs like a dream to -23C. Back up is all fixed now. Now to keep these premi’s going till thaw.

A mother was run down and killed by a driver going twice the speed limit. The driver was also found to be over legal alcohol level. Crown accepted a lesser guilty plea, $2k fine and 3 months no license.🤦‍♂️ #Calgary www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/arti...

In 2022 a person drove 2x the speed limit on a Calgary residential street, & struck and killed a person who was skateboarding. The driver pleaded guilty for careless driving and will be fined $2,000 and have license suspended for 3 months.😳 #WTF #Motonormativity calgaryherald.com/news/crime/c...

This would be a great time for the Alberta Gov to expedite plans to build infrastructure projects like a regional passenger rail system. Support ON’s steel industry and create jobs in AB. #Alberta #ABPoli #Trains www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

For those new to the #SingleStair discussion - here’s a good intro by @uytaelee.bsky.social youtu.be/iRdwXQb7CfM

What if the green line went west through the belt line & on to Mount Royal instead? Do our tracks have to be laid out like an * ? Or could they instead be a lot of colliding ‘u”s?

So much this! If we want older people to downsize, creating more housing opportunities for new families, we need density around parks and green spaces! No one is going to give up thier yard to be part of the wall protecting low density from noise and pollution.

If you see this post, quote with a bridge from your gallery. #bikesky #kyoto #japan

The implementation of the Calgary Plan will be delayed by about a year…because Communtiy Associations are burnt out. Maybe stop asking CAs to weigh in on complex planning as though they speak for communities on these issues.
