Absolutely. How CAs ever became the authority there is beyond me. They are all member-based and should not be speaking on behalf of residents.

I’ve been in Bridgeland for 6 months but it took me maybe a month to recognize that our CA planning committee is against growth. But also complain about not having enough restaurants and stores.

Because these orgs are member-based, acting as though they are community reps is just so wrong. I appreciate that they give their time to maintain rinks, plan events, etc, but really, just no on matters of planning. Literally why we elect a council.

They're orgs from another time... the city is far too reliant on them to maintain infrastructure best managed by the city: rinks, halls, etc. There's been a tidal wave of CAs having to liquidate assets that threaten to tank their orgs. Long past time to put this model to bed.
