I count 49 news headlines on the NYT mobile app home page right now, not including opinion, sports or cooking. None of them are about the massive protests yesterday.

Just looking at the crowd size here in Boulder yesterday and comparing to Boulder’s total population I’d say that this 2% figure is at the lower end of what we saw here. Higher fraction is likely, at least in Boulder.

Be wary of anyone claiming to be in the opposition in this time who sees yesterday’s protests as anything but a success. There are some very stupid, very confused people on “our side.”

I liked the "NPR AF" shirt I saw today.

Look what I found when I searched "ICE uniform" in Google Shopping. None of us have any way of knowing if the "ICE agent" pushing you into a car, isn't just some unbalanced vigilante into cosplay. These are very dangerous times.

Do you know how badly you have to screw up as a Republican to get this kind of turnout in IDAHO? #NOKINGS

Wish I'd taken video of one woman who drove by the protest several times - car was flying rainbow flag, passenger had sign, but this woman she was ON FIRE, bouncing in her car seat as she screamed out the car window, like ELECTRIC energy going on, everyone marveling at her "FUUUUCK DONALD TRUMP!!!!"

If you weren’t able to get to a protest today, try to go to the next one - it feels pretty great to see so many other people who are also wide awake. We live in our heads, on our phones, at our desks…but there’s no replacement for actual living breathing human beings to yell with.

Really wish that Bluesky let us edit alt text AFTER a post is made. I posted pics from the protests and couldn't really do proper alt text in the moment so used lame placeholder text (since I have "Require Alt Text" enabled). If I could go edit that text now to be more descriptive, I would.

Today was my housemate's first protest, ever. She was so jazzed to see so many other people being vocal about the bad man, waving their signs, honking their horns. Another convert!

I’m full of hope. Sitting here making roux for gumbo and looking at these crowds of people standing up. Full. Of. Hope. I have friends everywhere.

Resistance is everywhere

Found the perfect sign for today

Great thread of similarly minded people who came out today:

Was nice to go to today’s protest and NOT see any of the local people I dislike running into.

This one was my favorite sign. Kicking myself for not having thought of using this phrase from Andor on my own sign.

Resistance is everywhere

"-le" is a forgotten suffix in English - it's integrated so far into words that we no longer register it. It indicates continuousness: to sparkLE is to repeatedly spark, to scribbLE is to continuously scribe, etc. Which implies that to chortLE is to repeatedly do something called a chort.

A lot of folks have allowed their actual enemies to encourage them to view their allies as their imaginary enemies.

this is my favorite kind of account. always show me posts from this kind of account

I am wearing a “Protect Trans Kids” shirt and my companion is wearing a “Fight like Ukrainians” shirt and we have been getting comments on them everywhere we’ve gone today.

Some of you would do well to remember who the actual enemies are. #subtweet

This is a lie. We all saw the video. The Senator clearly identified himself, and he did not "lunge" toward anyone.   If these miserable propagandists will lie to you about roughing up a U.S. Senator in a room full of reporters, what won't they lie to you about?

We need *mass* mobilization in the U.S. right now, and I think that people who are somehow still focused on sneering at Perfidious Wine Mom Liberals are profoundly unserious

Pope Leo’s first US episcopal appointment, San Diego’s Bishop-designate Pham, a Vietnamese refugee, invites priests and faith leaders to “stand in solidarity”with migrants at courthouse on June 20, as they make court appearances.
