Bought a patch to put on a hat. Hat was out of stock. Waited a month for new stock. Bought the hat. Waited for the hat. Got hat! Can’t find the patch. Spent all day looking for the patch. Bought a new patch. Join me next week where I’ll immediately find the old patch when the new one arrives. #ADHD

@craigabbott.bsky.social Excellent presentation at Axe-Con, really great to see some attention on the aspect of #a11y that usually gets discussed the least.

A reminder that Axe-Con, the worlds largest virtual #accessibility conference, is next week! I’ll be talking about how to design for neurodiversity with lots of practical examples! If you don’t fancy that, there’s a whole line up of incredible speakers, and registration is free! lnkd.in/ert_uZe2

Been at @tetralogical.com for a month now. Best onboarding experience I’ve had in any organisation. Usually at this point I’m feeling like an impostor and struggling to feel like I’m contributing to anything. Documentation, process, and well thought out onboarding makes all the difference!

@jamieandlion.bsky.social been playing with Qwen2.5 14B Instruct, and phi-4-GGUF for writing. Both seem really promising.

Honestly, if ChatGPT were a person, I think they’d be a middle aged white dude. It’s staggering amount of times it delivers wildly incorrect answer with absolute confidence, rather than just admit it doesn’t know.

This is why we share our work. So others can build on it! Great post by @karlgoldstraw.bsky.social on creating their new accessibility strategy! www.linkedin.com/pulse/our-ac...

As somebody with #ADHD, @notion.com and “In Your face” have been game changing tools for me organising my life and not missing meetings! What tools could you not live without? Let’s see if we can make a useful thread of cool recommendations! www.inyourface.app

If you're an accessibility professional, don't miss your opportunity to take part in the Web Aim Global Digital Accessibility Salary Survey. It only takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete. It will help strengthen arguments for us, and highlight pay gaps. webaim.org/projects/sal... #accessibility #a11y

“Not a single #Whitehall department has registered the use of ✨ #AI systems since the #Government said it would become mandatory … #AI is already being used by Government to inform decisions … But details of only 9 #Algorithmic systems have so far been submitted to a public register …”

Please don’t rely on automated tools to write alt text! Sure, AI is getting better at being able to recognise what’s in an image, but its context that matters! See my example, where the same image, in two places, needs different alt text: www.craigabbott.co.uk/blog/how-to-... #accessibility #a11y
