I'm actually tempted to see Lilo and Stitch in the cinema now, as there has been such discourse about the creative decisions the filmmakers made regarding the story that I want to see how it works as a whole to get an idea of why they made those creative decisions.

One of the interesting consequences of the Trump election is the growing number of "MAGA" who have decided that noncitizens disagreeing with them politically or even holding a political opinion on the country is a deportable offense. Free speech doesn't extend to foreigners all of a sudden.

Went in to get my license renewed today. I had planned to get a haircut first, but I woke up late and the traffic was pretty bad, so I went straight to the licensing place. Can put off the haircut for another week.

I bought Robocop on the Mac. I've already finished the game twice, once with New Game+ on the PS5, but I really want to see how it runs on a Mac M2 Max because it is Unreal Engine 5.

I wonder if the new Phaseinvaders were allowed to keep control over their IP when they joined. Based on who they are, I'd imagine it's possible because at least one of them has spoken about not wanting to lose control of their IP. Though Sayu has said that joining Phase means giving up your IP.

I finished a 3rd play though of Hogwarts Legacy today, though I didn’t complete the field guide until after the main quests because I lost track of some side quests.

One thing I've been thinking about the Sinder situation is her community going forward. There is this unspoken assumption that Pyro pups should feel obligated to abandon the community and stop watching, assuming she comes back. I don't think they should feel shame if they choose to keep watching.

I finally watched Jackie Brown today, mostly because it was on the big screen. I wasn't sure I was going to like it but in the grand scheme of Quentin's work I think this one is a little underrated.

I got some new record cleaning gear so I'm listening to the 2012 Stereo mix of Beatles for Sale. Dust doesn't pick up as much on speakers as on headphones but it sounds like the new record brush made a difference.

I had put off the final mission of Shaddow of the Tomb Raider for a while but I've finally completed it. Next I'll have to finish Rise of the Tomb Raider on the PS5, I've had it since I bought a PS4 Pro in 2018.

It has been a day of noodles so far, for breakfast I had the 2x Buldak noodles, and for lunch I had BBQ Chicken Indomie. I have been thinking about Carbonara for dinner but I haven't commited to cooking anything.

I finished Robocop on the PS5. It is quite a good game. It also showed off many of Unreal Engine 5's strengths, though there was a lot about the game that wasn't as polished as Cyberpunk. It has a new game plus so I might try going through it again to max out all the stats, and get things I missed.

After completing the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk I've gotten back to the stage where the only thing I have left to do is complete the other endings, hope I missed some hidden quests. I guess I could also do the races, date Judy and do the car stealing missions but I don't enjoy the car stuff.

I finished the main story for Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty though I didn't get Mr. Hands gift before I finished the final mission with So Mi.

I went to see Black Bag today. I wasn't sure if I was up to going to the movies, but it's Steven Soderberg, and it has an interesting cast, so I decided to go. I haven't seen all of Soderberg's work but this is now one of my favorites.

I started cooking silverside in sous vide, I've always wondered how it would turn out. Mom always boils the silverside; it makes sense since it's salty, so it'll be interesting to see if this works.

I have never gotten around to seeing Master and Commander but I’m going to see it today in a 35mm screening. Should be interesting. Hopefully I’ll be back in time to see F1 Qualifying.

Finished Cyberpunk 2077, smasher too a couple of goes. I went with Panama because apparently it’s the best way to go for Judy. I’ll have to look into Phantom Pain but I was considering waiting for the Mac port.

The dating on Cyberpunk 2077 is kinda fun, but I wish they gave the dates more variety and different things to do on them. Have dinner, for example. Maybe the dialogue changes with the partner so you can get an idea of some sort of progress or new interests in their life outside your mayhem.

I bought a used copy of Aliens on Blu-ray online, I have the UHD on Apple, which looks okay but has a sort of unnatural sharpness in places. As some reviewers have pointed out, if you know what to look for, you can see the artefacts from the AI sharpening if you are familiar with them.

I just saw Anora, while I haven't seen ALL of the nominees for best picture, I understand how this movie could've won it. It's close between this movie, and conclave, perhaps The Brutalist as well.

I've been getting back into Cyberpunk on my PS5 recently, I play a mission or 2 here and there and then take a break. It can be overwhelming sometimes, looking at the mission list and deciding which one to do next. Some characters make it sound like you should rush to them and you don't have to.

The current administration cannot accept that people won't just roll over and surrender because they want them to. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/10/u...

Saw the Brutalist tonight, I don't think I got the full impact of the Vistavision it was shot on, but it was a compelling movie. I had wondered if any of it was based on real people, but it seems as though it's fictional.

I think Canadians should keep the name Americano, because the story for why it's an Americano is that American GIs during the Second World War were watering down their espresso. They found it was too strong for their taste. Europeans called the drink Americano after witnessing this.

Trump has to return to the negotiating table because if France secures peace without the United States' input it'll make him look like a moron. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/06/u...

With Apple's announcement today, I wonder what the future is for the Mac Pro. For years commentators said they needed expansion ports, but when they got them, they suddenly said the studio is good enough. A rackmount Mac Pro is a niche product but I can see why people would want them.

The more I see right-wing commentators go after left-wing streamers, the more I want to watch those left-wing streamers. When you get past the drama, they have things to say that are worth listening to.

I've been playing Silent Hill 2 and I can't get used to the combat system. Everyone I see play tends to handle the enemies with melee attacks to conserve ammo, but I can't seem to fight them without taking damage.

Every day I'm reminded that the election of Trump will be a mistake on the part of the American people that can never be undone. It'll fall into the past with other black marks on the record, but its damage will be long lasting.

Not surpising at all, it'll be either ass-kissers or people who don't challenge him or push back on anything he says. Cynically I think talking to him is a waste of time since people tend to ignore or make excuses for the crazy stuff he says. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/25/b...

Amazon now has bought full control over the Bond franchise, I suppose its future will depend on whoever they put in charge of producing it but I assume we'll have a movie announcement within a year or so. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/b...

Surely the courts will shut down this one, not only does it reak of a power grab in the direction of authoritarian rule it sets a dangerous precedent for future administrations, assuming there are any.

I don’t think the United States will recover from Trump’s Presidency on the world’s stage. If the EU can get it’s act together along with the UK, Canada, and Mexico. The USA will become irrelevant.

Yesterday, I bought 2 replacement Blu-ray remotes for my Sony Blu-ray players on Ali Express. I hope they turn out to be sufficiently compatible.

I wonder why Trump would Pardon him now when he had commuted his sentence in 2018. Maybe he has plans that this will help him carry out. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

Somehow I’ve managed to misplace 2 Sony Blu ray remotes and haven’t been able to find them again. I’ve searched both locations I thought they were located thoroughly though perhaps I could still look even harder. I might have to look into replacements.

The problem with conservatives is that they assume all government spending is bad or wasteful government spending. They don't put any effort into understanding why things are done the way they are done, so when they start slashing stuff they break things in ways that have major knock on consiquences

Apple Maps so far has some integrity, but Google has opted for a safer Trump-friendly approach.

Joe Biden joined CAA, so I can only assume he'll be in Star Wars Episode X. www.bbc.com/news/article...

I have run my PS2 copy of RE4 through the disc repair machine so many times I'm starting to think that the disc might be beyond repair.

The Skeleton Crew was a lot of fun, but the ending was frustratingly open-ended. I wonder if there will be a season 2 or if the characters will end up in a different series/movie.

I've been thinking about David Lynch today, and even though I'm aware of his work as a director, I haven't seen much of his features. I think I saw The Elephant Man years ago, but long enough that I remember very little of it. And I've seen Dune a few times, including a screening on 35mm last year.
