I hope America is as lucky as the delta jet - everyone survives but the right wing explodes

For anyone still claiming people on the left need to "meet the other side in the middle", I will point out that Trump supporters are currently looking at for-sale housing data for the DC area and laughing about people losing their jobs / homes. These deplorable people are not redeemable.

None of the movies I saw growing up prepared me for working full time, managing adult life, AND raging against a fascist government.

The sooner the left gives up on the pipe dream of the other side turning on Trump, the better. It's just not happening. Republicans in Congress and Trumpy's supporters could be severely hurt by things he does and they won't care or they'll blame anyone else. They're not going to turn and "save us".

Republicans continue to be cringingly embarrassing (on top of corrupt and evil): H.R.1161 - To authorize the President to enter into negotiations to acquire Greenland and to rename Greenland as "Red, White, and Blueland" www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

Sadly, sadly, the sun rose; it rose upon no sadder sight than the man of good abilities and good emotions, incapable of their directed exercise, incapable of his own help and his own happiness, sensible of the blight on him, and resigning himself to let it eat him away.

If there is ever a guillotine-style revolution, I really want the one used for Elon to be battery powered.

I'm basically a nobody on here, so this really goes out to my handful of followers, but has anyone considered working on whatever is needed for recall campaigns on any Republican congresspeople who might be especially vulnerable? It would only take a few flips to take back some control.

Since moving to the DC region I've lived in a number of places, and while this was never my address, "Nathan Lane" has to be my favorite street name in all of NoVA.

What we're currently learning from watching Trump, Musk, and his goons is that the rule of law doesn't matter. The question now is why should anyone else feel bound to follow the law? This is currently an educational endeavor, but what do they think the result of all this will be?

Since Elon claimed USAID was a "criminal organization", I'm curious where the evidence is, and why DOJ hasn't started aggressive prosecution? I'm CERTAIN it's not because there was not any actual crime.

Reminder: Everything they're doing is illegal. Congress failing to act to stop anything does not make any of it legal. They also don't care that there will be lawsuits, that they're ruining people's careers, and that they're destroying the country. As long as they can get richer it's all good.

Don't worry, Fox isn't totally spinning the tariff debacle as a win, and their stupid viewers are totally not eating it up. We're so cooked.

This guy is a southie?! Outrageous.

Biggs is working hard to make Triangle Shirtwaist great again.

Protestors setup a long-term encampment in front of Blinken's house over US support to Israel. In the meantime, I haven't seen any protests at any Trump admin officials homes, or in front of DOGE locations. Does nobody actually care? None of these people should get a moment of peace and quiet.

I'm kind of glad the tariffs are going to take effect. There is a LOT of bad stuff happening in government right now, but the average person just won't care until it affects them, and this will definitely drive up prices. Can't wait for the Valentine's Day flower price freak-outs.

A news article said Elon is sleeping at DOGE HQ in the Eisenhower office building. It'd be a real shame if people protested and made a lot of noise around there all night long. A REAL SHAME.

For any fed employees who might be fired, keep in mind you might forget passwords, or safe combos, or lose keys. You might forget to tell people about important things to do. It happens in stressful situations. It's a real shame. Oh well.

Can anyone explain why Congress has entirely abdicated all control to Musk and Trump? Fire IGs without notice? Nothing. Harass fed employees and offer questionable resignation terms? Nothing! Even Republicans have fed employee constituents and Nobody. Is. Doing. A. Single. Thing.

So many people seem upset at the results of the Tyson-Paul fight. In the meantime I'm over here upset that I ever had to find out who Jake Paul is.

I saw this on Reddit but nobody seemed to mention the goal here - Let in "talented, hardworking" immigrants to drive down the costs of labor (especially in tech fields). Great for the rich company to get richer, bad for the US workers. I'm sure more of the plan involves ditching H1B rules.
