They don't have a choice. I am saying this even though my husband and I rely solely on his social security retirement income and my income as a factory worker. We are beyond angry. We are frightened. I don't know this country anymore. I am going to try to call some of these Dems tomorrow.

The Dems need to shut the govt down when the budget comes due. It may be the only leverage they have and they need to use it. People will be hurt, but either way people will be hurt. It seems that the government is already shut down in effect - what do they have to lose at this point?

You are not alone. Right now just focus on basic self-care. Have you had anything to eat or drink, and are you warm enough? Do not be afraid to check yourself in somewhere to get help, or call a help line.

Thank you for sharing your recent posts. Know that you are not alone. Depression is turning me into a shut-in where I don't answer the phone, door or mail for months at a time. You might want to try folding origami cranes. It is an effective antidepressant for me- more so than meds.

Thank you. We live in Northern Texas in tornado alley where we do not have tornado sirens. We rely on the NWS website for timely and credible hazard alerts. NOAA's comprehensive collection of data and information is breathtaking and science-based - and it belongs to us and NOT Elon Musk.

I am capable of skimming, but often have to re-read sentences, sections or entire books. I think I read because I enjoy writing. I love to find, binge and savor great writing. For me, speed is not a top priority.
