In the grand scheme of things, does this matter? Sort of no, but a lot of yes.
This is a blatant, verifiable, eyes tell you the truth but stated anyway, lie. And yet people buy it.
The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

They’ve always done that. Same thing Microsoft does if you have the base game of something free and buy the Season Pass upgrade on Game Pass. You lose all of it and they rarely ever put the base game on sale forcing you to buy the ultimate bundle and stuff you already have
