Good for Brianna Keilar for pushing back on these lies.

Not great, Bob.

there has never been a past without trans people and there won’t be a future without them either, no matter what. no law can change that. i refuse to allow them to talk about people i love like that.

“Emails that have since been made public quite clearly show that Littlejohn, in fact, asked the school to use they/them pronouns for their non-binary child. Littlejohn … gave approval to let their child and their teachers lead on appropriate school protocols.”

My heart breaks for the trans community. This speech is awful and dangerous. Your existence matters. The world is better when we are all truly able to be ourselves. I'm sorry that anyone believes political attacks are worth more than that.

Just a friendly reminder that Donald Trump has no popular vote "mandate." In fact, in the last six US elections, he has the distinction of having achieved the two lowest percentages of the popular vote, in both cases below 50%. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...

It's almost sad how excited Vance was to have a role there.

Trump tonight: “I brought back free speech in America. It’s back.” Trump this morning:

“No tax on tips” is literally not in the Republican tax plan. It’s not there. But there are $4.5 trillion in tax breaks for billionaires.

"The days of rule of unelected bureaucrats are over." MALPRACTICE that the cameraman didn't pan right to Elon.

hey guess what trump's numbers about social security are total horseshit www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Tonight, President Trump spewed more lies and continued to ignore the reality that his policies are hurting working families – not helping them. In protest, I decided to leave the House Chamber early, rather than listen to more false promises from a wannabe dictator. My statement ⬇️

Curious as to what any of the dial groups out there are saying about the Dem reactions. While I liked the Al Green protest (and wish more people would do it--I think Trump might lose his cool), I'm seeing mixed feedback. I wonder what the average voters--not the pundits or very online folks--think.

Trump touts free speech: now would be the time for someone else to pull an Al Green.

Did he point at Elon when he said "it's OUR presidency"? Because that would be so on the nose.

I bet it bugs Trump every day that Obama won more electoral votes than him in both of his elections.

There are many many many reasons I wish Kamala Harris had won, but a small one is that I suspect Doug would have been very entertaining cheering on his wife during big speeches like this.

A reminder that these states and now the Trump administration are fighting to allow women to die rather than be allowed a medically necessary health care procedure. For the voters who believed the lies that Trump wouldn't support a national abortion ban, think again.

They explicitly want hospitals to let women die.

I think my pups missed me a little bit.

Every Dem senator or governor with a swingy House district in their state should hold regular town halls in them, starting ASAP. State legislators should do the same.

There's so very much wrong with this, but she also leans on the "taking money not to come to work" trope, which is ridiculous for a number of reasons: 1) many (I suspect most) of the people fired were not working remotely. 2) Plenty of people work successfully outside of an office.

This is a pretty big attack on the First Amendment. And an encroachment on universities' powers to decide what protests to allow and who to expel.....

Nothing to do w/DEI. They want to erase our accomplishments, our heroes, our inspiration. THIS is what Justice KBJ meant when she said at oral argument in the university cases that the conservative majority would privilege narratives of white students & disqualify the narratives of Black students.

Not to like toot my own horn but *every time* I bring up tariffs on the radio I define them: "tariffs are taxes American businesses pay to import goods from abroad." Given all the lies and the fact that many Americans didn't take international economics 101, I encourage others to do this as well.

ahhhhhhhhhh

I appreciate @democrats.org's willingness to take feedback and shift focus on graphics, but there's an awful lot of commentary on ONE post they made--developed because lots of people were calling for what Democrats have done--as if they hadn't offered criticism of Trump and the GOP.

To those who think they are bad at this, they are doing exactly what they set out to do: break government altogether.

#uglydogs It's that time again! Please share widely, in dark times we can still do good things. Even if you can't donate at this time, you can share and spread the word. Everyone's contribution is important and appreciated!

Exactly this. We can always examine whether we sound like humans and not a political AI program, but they are currently banning the use of words like female in science and turning inclusion into a dirty word. They will find a way to attack anything that includes everyone just because we say it.

That's not the only problem! Even if she did work for an organization that accepted funds from USAID that would most certainly not make them a "crime family"

Oliver Darcy has some very good points here

The obvious point here is that when Dems hold positions of power they don't actually force people to say things like "pregnant people." Some people were asked to used their pro-nouns once on a zoom call and mistook it for oppression.

just gonna be the thousandth person to remind you all that segregationists start the open bigotry with people they feel they can target most easily but do not end there

Trans people belong. Trans people belong in the military. Trans people belong in science and the arts and tech and law. Trans people belong in grocery stores and gas stations and coffee shops and diners. Trans people belong in parks and on beaches and mountain trails. Trans people belong.

Undocumented immigrants paid about $26 billion per year into Social Security, even though they will get nothing out of it. They subsidize citizens to an extraordinary degree. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/13/b...

Quite hard to describe massive cuts at Social Security Admin plus cancelling (without explanation) the flu vaccine committee meeting as anything other than an intentional financial, physical, and psychological attack on everyone over 65 years old. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/u...

Even if they don't cut Social Security benefits (and if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you), they are kneecapping Social Security's operations.

Just as an FYI, hospitals NEED Medicare and Medicaid dollars to function. Smaller/ rural/ critical access hospitals will not survive without them. So even if you don't rely on Medicare, you still might lose your local hospital or find yourself stranded without care while traveling.
