So I'm giving up. I won't start the 12 year climb again. I'm just giving up. Breaking the contract with my agency, and giving up on performing. It's what this cruel bitch wants. It's what Amazon wants.
And I can't afford to live without this job. My rent is too high.

I have no way to fight this, no way to change the decision that was made. I have tried every loophole, every hoop to jump through. I've tried adjusting my schedule, shortening my hours, enrolling in college classes to force me back to day shift.
All for nothing.

I'm signed with an agency. I have a contract that requires me to be active in the community to eventually move up to Regional theatre, eventually to Broadway itself. If I give up performing for a year, I break my contract, and I have to start this 12 year climb all over again.

I'm back to working from 6pm to 5am. My auditions, rehearsals, and shows all start at 6pm and run to 11pm. For the next year, I have to give up theatre entirely. And I've been told multiple times, "there will be other auditions" "it's only a year".
That's the problem...

In January, she found a loophole. She revoked our work contracts, and re signed them all under a new shift. Forcing us all onto new shifts. I was put back to night shift, right before audition season for the this year. I have an audition today, actually. But there is a problem...

HR always pushed back because it wasn't ethical to force anyone onto night shift. It's specifically stated in policy.
All the while, I'm performing in shows. Day shift worked perfectly, I got out at 4pm, I went to rehearsals at 6pm. I balanced life and work. I enjoyed life.

After negotiating, he agreed. And put me on day shift. Since then, that manager left Amazon, and I got a new one. This manager has been trying to move everyone on my team for months since she got hired. She wanted a yearly rotation of everyone. Nights to days, days to nights.

In 2023 I was nearly hospitalized for being on nights. I wasn't sleeping, I wasn't eating, my physical health was rapidly declining. I BEGGED my manager at the time to put me on day shift, walked into his office and started sobbing. Saying I couldn't take this anymore...

I work at Amazon, the world's worst company to work for. 2 months ago, I was forced onto night shift. Working from 6pm to 5am (sometimes to 6am or 7am). This directly went against the reason I went to days in the first place...
