The Trump EPA is working to dismantle the Inflation Reduction Act piece-by-piece by working to cancel tens of millions of dollars in contracts to nonprofit organizations, claiming they are subject to waste, fraud and abuse. One of the organizations pushing back is the Justice Climate Fund.

It was great to work on this story and to learn about Michelle's work.

Is there anything more terrifying in this world than Little Ceasar's Crazy Puffs? Are they weapons of mass destruction?

Can someone explain to me why it's so hard to volunteer in Philadelphia? Orgs require the equivalent of job applications

"For millions of Americans, the greatest threat isn’t that they’ll lose their jobs. It’s that the job will never pay enough, never provide enough hours, never offer enough stability to keep them housed." A must-read about the housing crisis in the U.S. When will we invest in solutions?

Great to see hundreds of people protesting for democracy in Pennsylvania. #fiftyfiftyone #nokingsday

Great ideas. Love #13: Put up a little table outside of a grocery store with a sign that says ,“Have your grocery bills come down? Why not?”

“It is difficult to think of anything so flagrantly at odds with the fundamental principles on which our country was built.”

This just breaks my heart! And just in time for Valentine's Day weekend @thelever.bsky.social

This is a fantastic idea. How can we make this happen?

No more paralysis. Let's find some solutions, people. Here's one: A Shadow Cabinet

Yes. “People are doing things. You will meet them when YOU start doing things.” Lots of information and resources in this one. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...

USAID’s inspector general—presumably operating from a remote base in the mountains—has just released a report on the staggering effect of the Trump Administration’s assault on the agency. oig.usaid.gov/sites/defaul...

"I thought that the administration was going after violent criminals, but these people are innocent, honest, hardworking people."

This past week, I published a new story with The Philadelphia Citizen about a proposal to bring a restaurant meals program to PA for SNAP participants. Such a program could be another tool in the fight against food insecurity thephiladelphiacitizen.org/ideas-we-sho... @thephilacitizen.bsky.social

"Emergencies have no borders."

"The enforcement has perplexed local immigrant advocates, who questioned why the Biden administration was using its final weeks to target Central Valley migrant workers for deportation."

Super cool merch from @thephilacitizen.bsky.social Thank you!

The immediate catalyst for the Tulsa massacre, I just learned, turned out to be a tale as old as time, at least here in the U.S.—and a lie that was grossly and recklessly amplified by a local newspaper. www.justice.gov/crt/media/13...

This article does a fantastic job connecting the dots between displacement by mainlanders and economic violence toward Puerto Ricans in Puerto Rico. What is quesito without queso?

This is the best analysis I've seen so far about what's at stake in the TikTok case before the Supreme Court. "The First Amendment does not ... protect the free expression of the Chinese government."

As a newcomer, I am grateful for this Inky explanation of all the Mummer idiocy

But this is far from cool. Why? Why?

Mierda. Thanks @julito77.bsky.social This is a big loss to the Latino/a community. More than ever we need our voices reflected in national media. thelatinonewsletter.org/p/axios-lati...

This is so bad. FDR created the FDIC amid The Great Depression in order to restore faith in American banking. People were basically losing everything when their banks failed. The FDIC was meant to prevent so-called “bank runs” where people would pull their money out to save what the could get.

Design matters. And it matters even more when it comes to apps that claim to alleviate mental health problems. But this op-ed from @statnews.bsky.social says 95% of people stop using them after 15 days. What to do? Get more creative. www.statnews.com/2024/12/09/d...

New: the U.S. government is trying to stop data brokers that sell personal info which often ends up with stalkers, abusers, and, as I've shown before, violent cybercriminals. That's if Trump admin doesn't stop CFPB (Musk wants to shut that agency down) www.404media.co/u-s-governme...
