My bike is in the shop and I think when it comes home I will give it a cup holder that can hold iced coffee, as a get well soon present.

Austin had free buses for a trial period and they said it was a failure because too many teenagers rode the bus.

It's margarita and manga Monday!

Today's handmade book. If I were more put together, I could have gotten someone to cut the butterfly with cricut, but I did it by hand with a pair of scissors and it shows. I made the marbled paper at a workshop at the Austin Book Arts Center.

Based on the photos, not a shabby turn out in Austin given that the place was on lockdown from threats an hour before.

In October, I spoke at city council to ask them not to approve the new police contract that would place our city in a budget crisis. Those of us who spoke against the contract had to do so while surrounded by the armed cops themselves.

Some good news: Senator John Cornyn hired a consultant who never wins anything to be his senior campaign advisor.

Obviously the cops can instigate violence at any protest and everyone should remain cautious, but if you just want to go to a big protest like the ones in most cities today and stand on the outskirts and observe and add your body to the numbers you can and should and you will be fine.
